- K Ewing5 contributionsAstoundingI visited last summer 2022. I'm reviewing late as I didn't think to at the time. So why now? Because the museum of antiquities in Nicosia is one of the most astounding museums I have ever been in. It's the wealth of history in such a compact venue. You must visit if in Nicosia.Visited August 2022Travelled soloWritten 27 February 2023
- Arthur MNottingham, United Kingdom251 contributionsDo visit and be amazed at prehistoric pottery and figuresWell worth a visit. Some lovely early pottery and weird pottery figures - amazing the quality of work produced thousands of years BC. Also a room full of stone carvings and chariots. The first couple of rooms are beautifully labelled in English and Greek, so hopefully they will work round and do the rest.Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 May 2023
- Tobi4 contributionsGreat collectionThe museum covers a lot of Cyprus‘ ancient history from neolithic to roman times. There are quite a few impressive statues and objects presented. Sadly, the exhibition is not ordered chronologically which is a bit confusing. We really liked the exhibition “Pente” which tells stories from people’s everyday lives based on archeological findings. Defines worth a visit. Especially since it is free for students (incl. internationals).Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 2 July 2023

Definitely a must see. It has 3 floors and quite informative . The coin collection is impressive. Both my kids were quite curious on each of the artifacts and its usage during time frame mentioned.

Loved it here. Lots to see and learn and some great kids scavenger hunt activities provided for free at the entrance.
My 8 year old is learning about ancient Greece and absolutely loved it here.

The staff at reception was rude and uninterested in providing information. They were all chatting and seemed annoyed to have to stop and give us tickets. Even mocking when being asked questions. It was a bizarre experience.
Not sure, but could only see security forces in ticket office/reception at public museums, and hospitality training is desperatley needed.

Brilliant museum! Beautiful artifacts, dating right back to the neolithic. Wonderful pottery with fascinating properties (special multi-fluid pour-and-store vessels for example). The terracotta army is amazing, lots of figurines with striking features and personalities. Histoic coins and how they were minted are a wow too. Entry is free and there is a free multi-lingual tour device available. There was even a room telling the story of 5 individuals from different times reconstructed from their skeletons. It would have been nice if the gift-shop had had a wider choice of replicas of some of the items on display in the collection. I would have loved a pendant like one of the small pictrolite axes as a pice of jewellery.

A lot to see and the best part that it is completely free of charge. It is really worthy spending an hour or two.
