Worth a detour if your travelling to Limassol. Takes less than an hour to see it fully. Interior has fairly steep spiral stone stairs - may not suit everyone.

Or Richard the Lion Hearted, or just need to kill some time the history behind the place is perhaps more interesting than the place, but well worth the go

It is not the kind of castle as one would normally imagine . It has a lot of history aligned to it and has changed many hands. It is a plain structure with two storeys with a couple of rooms on each , all empty...More

Not a lot to see here but worth visiting if already going to Kourion or Apollo Ylatis. Interesting history.

Despite its name this castle is quite small and a bit bare but still worth a visit. It is in contrast to the many grand castles of northern Europe. It won't take long to look around but it is worth reading the information boards to...More

Went there with small children and a teenager. Need to be vigilant. Really really cool! Love the fortification, the state it is in, and the price - 2.50 Euro per adult.

Very good example of military architecture as here it was the Grand Commandery of the Knights of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem. These Knights produced for the first time Commandaria wine, which today is one of the best and oldest in the world!...More

Although it is a wonderful mark of history for Cyprus, it was rather boring as it is just a building. So I do highly recommend visiting as long as you are mindful of the facts that it's not a full day out but only part...More

I bought a bag of oranges opposite for 1 euro. tasty. Seniors get half price entry at most places. You can do this and travel most Cyprus local areas for 5 Euros a day. It leaves you free till 11 p.m. to take the coastal...More
