The Muslim mosque of Hala Sultan is located in the centre of a spectacular garden on the west bank of the Salt Lake, approximately 6 km southwest of Larnaka. It is the main Muslim pilgrimage site of Cyprus and among the most important holy places of Islam. The mosque was built over a tomb which, according to tradition, belongs to... More

The mosque is unprepossessing and there is not a lot of interpretation or information provided, but it is where the aunt/wet nurse/ of Mohammed is buried and therefore an important site. The mosque provides coverups for women and men so they can be respectfully clad while inside. After viewing, walk to the edge of the salt lake and say hello... More

Interesting place with quiet garden. Doesn't matter your religion, the place is interesting to see and spend few minutes. Cats are all around the place, like guardians.

Wonderful mosque in wonderful surroundings. If you are not suitably dressed be mindful to wear the cloak at the door to cover up and respect the religion. This is a holy place of worship.

This was a passing visit. The building is a historic mosque. Kings & Queens and their children are deemed to be burried there. There is a story of a large concrete slab on top of one tombe and no historical explanation of how it got there. Well worth a visit then a trip to Google

Religiously and historically interesting, but would be better, with more information readily available. In a pretty setting, but lacked meaning for the uneducated.
