The Monastery itself is lovely if poorly maintained .
On the day we visited the museum was shut so I cannot comment on that. I thought it both sad and disrespectful that there was no protection from the many birds that seemed to live in this former church. Many of the icons were splattered with bird poo which is damaging their painted surface. It was in total contrast to the many former churches now mosques that we visited later on in Famagusta which are lovingly cared for.

Pleasant village and Monastery, allow at least half a day. Lots of little shops and nice looking restaurants/bars.

Visited with guide, who choose what to do. Excellent choice, too. There are so many interesting old sites to visit.

We had not visited here for many years but decided to remind ourselves of its history on our recent holiday. There are rooms showing exhibitions of artifacts from all different eras of history which was very interesting and these skirt a beautiful, peaceful courtyard. There is a small cafe which is a new addition since our previous visit and the monastery itself has many frescoes still in amazing condition. Well worth a visit

The monestery has its vital importance in christianity. On top of that, there are also many well preserved paintings and freskos that are historically really important. Also the monestary has rooms for other historical elements from Cyprus it is one of the only archeological museum. Highly recommended

If you are interested in visiting ancient buildings you will like this. As most do it has an interesting history and is worth seeing. There are quite a few on the island to visit.

Hello! How much is it to enter this premises?
Written 18 February 2020
Sorry but cannot answer exactly as it was all included in our tour price.
I did however get the feeling that all of the attractions that we visited would only be a couple of euros each to enter as everything was quite affordable.

Sorry it took me so long to reply. There are some flat paved areas that should be suitable.
