The wall is amazing, great history, it's in good condition. While I appreciate the addition of a handrail, it doesn't go all the way up and is getting pretty loose, don't put all your weight on it. Also, the handrail somewhat detracts from the wall...More

If you walk along the city wall, you can easily find the gate. In several sections of the wall, there are stairs or walk paths, you can take good pictures.

You can see the 'Sea Gate' from inside the old walls, but it is permanently closed off, as the port area is out of bounds to the public. Beside the entrance is one (two?) of the marble lions.

Climb the stairs and enjoy a beautiful view of Salamis Bay. Another advantage is the position in the tax free area of the harbour!

Worth a visit if you're nearby to climb up and take a look back inland at the city. Identifiable by the Venetian Lion at the entrance.

The sea gate is worth the climb up to look inland. Great vantage point over the historic city of Famagusta. Unfortunately, the sea view is now a port. Don't miss the Venetian Lion at the base of the stairs!

When visiting the walled city within Famagusta this is worth a tour, the whole inner sanctum of the walls is dotted with historic buildings and you will find the Sea Gate a good part of your tour around with cafés, restaurants and shops all around.
