They let us in on a day they wouldn't have been open so early and were very hospitable, despite working on a special opening for later that day on Ruth Smith. The artistic traditions of the Faroes are very strong and individualistic. So glad I...More

This is a small local museum with a gift shop. On the lower level are the most interesting items. There is a large display of carved wooden pew ends returned from Oslo. And a small hoard of coins. Well worth a visit.

The National Museum was an excellent source for information on our 3 day visit to the Faroes. Good exhibitions covering nature, history, culture and daily life. Excellent exhibition of traditional boats - you can easily see the wiking heritage.

And a fascinating history of the fishing industry. Downstairs there were great exhibits on early Christianity, national costumes and Viking...More

The building looks like an old storage house from the outside but inside it's much better ! Lots of stuff on fish and biology as well as coastal culture. Neat Middle-Age Runes and church art but I would have expected more Viking/Medieval things overall.

We weren't full of expectation for this museum if we're honest - it was raining very hard and we wanted somewhere dry, so we drove out here. It's a bit out of town, but it is actually worth the effort - it's only DKK40 (about...More
