I'm sure it's more impressive when there's more water flowing. We went on a sunny day when the light flow was in shadow. Svartafoss was a much prettier waterfall.

Fantastic waterfall on way to Tjørnuvík. Can stop for a bit and enjoy the view, also picnic spot available. You can get quite close to the lower cascade and grove pictures and feel the water splashing you :) nice experience

On of the most famous waterfalls in the Faroe islands, but not the most beautiful. When we visited there was quite a strong breeze, and it looked more a spray then a waterfall. We also hiked up, but weren't able to find a good path up to the second platform. Just to see it perfectly accessible from a small parking lot on the right. Be sure to stop here!

So if you've been to the Faroe Islands you'll know that there are waterfalls absolutely everywhere. Probably even more than Iceland. Some of the ones we saw were visibly more stunning but Fossa is actually hikeable which does make it pretty cool. We hiked up to the middle tier only which took maybe 25 minutes tops to get to. I've heard this waterfall varies greatly in size depending on how much rain they've had recently and it would be much cooler to see up close when it was a raging torrent. Fossa was pretty gentle when we were there. Still worth a stop in my opinion!

I went by this waterfall on two separate days when visiting Tjornuvik. The first day wasn't very exciting but the second was much better. I still wouldn't go out of my way to see it again but I WOULD recommend people going out of their way to see Tjornuvik because it's amazing!

This is another much photographed waterfall in Faroe Islands and for a reason. It is by the road so very easy to access. You can go pretty close to it to feel its power. Some venture the climb to the "second floor" as well. Not to be missed on rainy weather because then there is more water in the fall as well. You have a good view of the whole waterfall on the other side of the fjord.

Read about this waterfall on several travel sites but have to say I was disappointed when we arrived. We had seen a number of waterfalls on the Faroe Islands during our stay and some of them appeared more spectacular.

Of course we stopped at the Fossá waterfall which is said to be 140 m. There is a small patch on the side of the mountain where you can park. So no exposed parking. At the waterfall, there are stone tables and benches where you can have coffee. We did that. I think it's the best lunch I've ever had.

One of the many waterfalls lining the roads of the Faroe Islands.
This one is much more imposing in terms of height than the others that I have seen on these islands.

Very pretty view from the island of Eysturoy going towards Eidi.
