There are 6 ferries a day from Tórshavn (7 on Wednesdays and Fridays, 5 on weekends), the trips take about 20 minutes and there is a cafe on board, with heated internal seating and very blustery outdoor seating. You get a great view of Tórshavn...More

The island is a nice cozy village full of friendly people. We got there during their celebration of one of their heros Ove Joensen, which was fun to watch (lots of singing, and lots and lots of drinking). We set out for the hike of...More

This is a small island, but it is a nice place to have a walk. You will need good shoes and a good lunchpack but you will enjoy.

Nolsoy is only a 20 min. ferry ride from the harbour (40 kr, I think) & if you're planning on doing the hike to the lighthouses, this is the way to go. But if you just want a look at the village of Nolsoy itself,...More

We took the ferry over from Torshavn in the morning. After a brief stop at the tourist information center we decided to try the 5 hour hike to the lighthouse and back. It's a nice walk but most of the impressive scenery is looking back...More
