On Tuesdays there are concerts at the Oratory of St Francis on the main street in Valetta. This is an intimate venue for lovely music. We enjoyed a performance by the soprano Marita Bezzina and pianist Ramona Zammit Formosa. It was only 8 euro, with funds supporting the restoration of the church. Beware, the small hard wooden seats are crammed... More

In any other city this place would stand out, but in Valetta it is overshadowed a bit by the other churches. Undeservedly so as it is well worth a visit for its quiet beauty. We visited partly for a lunchtime recital (which was terrific) and to see the Oratory. I would highly recommend a visit, and if their is a... More

We attended a lunchtime piano recital which was given by Romona Zammit Formosa who played a beautiful selection of music. The recitals usually last about 50 minute and are fund raising events in aid of St. Francis Church.

Wonderful musical concerts on Tuesdays. These concerts where very good - may be only on over Christmas/ New Year but demonstrates how well music in Malta is taught.

We wandered into the Oratory just for a look-see and it was astounding. The marblework memorials on the floor are worth the visit alone. No charge, but don;t forget it's a church, so please treat with dignity!

The church is very beautiful with a lot of wonderful artwork. There are concerts in the same complex. They charge a small fee and one was just going to begin when we visited. Worth a look while in Malta.

We were thrilled to be able to enjoy such a high quality program performed by Silvio and Ramona Zammit in historic surroundings. They performed works that he had arranged. The church has a lunchtime concert series as a fundraiser. There is just a small announcement posted outside for the upcoming show. 8 euros per ticket

We arrived on a night flight so the wise thing to do was to rent a car drive to Valletta (parking is 3 EURO FOR THE WHOLE DAY JUST OUTSIDE THE CITY) and the exquisite music performance at the St Francis Oratory on the main street.(Republic St.) Thoroughly enjoyable experience in a beautiful chapel.

We spent a very happy hour last week in the Oratory of St Francis listening to an excellent piano recital. Various lunchtime concerts are held at the Oratory and if they are all as good as this one, then they are definitely well worth attending.
