Amazing building and amazing history! The audio guide was very good and really added to the experience. The cathedral is well worth the visit, but even in October towards the end of the summer season it was still quite busy. I recommend to buy the tickets online, this way you can skip the long queue at the entrance.

When I first saw the cost if €15 to enter this cathedral, I thought better of it. I travel on a budget. However after looking into the costs of several entry fees, I chose a guided walking tour which included entry to the cathedral.
We entered by a seperate pathway, adjacent to the public entry, and our guide continued her dialogue inside.
What an absolutely amazing place. From the iurside it looks plain and non description but the work to decorate inside is absolutely amazing.
I would recommend visiting this place and if you can, make sure you have a guide as the Maltese history is very complicated.

NOqhere near as good as I was lead to believe by all the hypoe of it being best and most must-see place in Valetta. I was disappointed and totally underwhelmed. Especially as we had to line up for a long time to get in. Far too much Gold it just didnt do anything for me and I left disappointed

What a wonderful experience! A truly must-see location also for those not into baroque art. No words to desribe the wonderful "Beheading of St John the Baptist" the only painting bearing Caravaggio's signature.
The audio guide is detailed and informative. It's a pity the screen did not always show what was being described. We were strongly advised to go really early in the morning before the cathedral fills up and the advice turned out to be spot on.

It is the most astonishing place. Have no idea how it survived the bombing of Malta - but it is definitely worth a visit.

Not really a must see due to the cost (15 euros) unless you absolutely must see paintings and ornate altars. Quite small and not much to do except listen to quite boring history whilst looking at paintings. (They provide you with an audio guide) I would pass this and do something else unless you have alot of money to spare.

Beautiful cathedral, definitely a must-see when in Valletta. During the day its crowded and the line for entrance can be long, but if you don’t want to wait, just come a little bit later like we did. The entrance is allowed until 16:15h if I remember well. Also, don’t forget to visit Caravaggio’s section and take a look at a beautiful short movie about his life and the paintings.

As you walk around the church, the artwork and the statues seem to come alive. Amazing artwork. Spend at least an hour.

I've seen too many cathedrals, but this one has two Carsvaggos that are entirely worth seeing. I'd recommend going with a guide who can provide information of the Knights of Malta, which are also interesting.
