This smart restaurant is within MUZA (no entry charge to get to the restaurant). We ate in the interior dining room, which is warmly and smartly furnished.
Had one of the best risottos we've ever eaten (Grouper-based). Other menu items looked good too.
Service was flawless, polite and professional.
It was very quiet at lunchtime.
Super location in a grand former house of the knights of St. John.

Very very good restaurant, I definitely recommend!
I came to have dinner and the quality of the food was exquisite and the waiters and waitresses were very nice and professionals
The setting is unique
Regarding the price, I came for a business trip so I don’t have any idea of the prices tbh.

The former house of the Italian Knights of St John. It is found in Merchant Street. Architecture is from 16th century and is quite stunning. It is now home to the Malta Tourist Authority.

The facade of the auberge has murals and figurines that have amazing details and the entire architecture is really impressive also.

Such an impressive entrance one couldn't resist going inside. Some things you had to pay for to enter e.g. art gallery/museum, but I was quite happy to just wander around. I especially liked the courtyard.

Loved this place. Definitely Italian Renaissance. The lion statues and the cannon outside the front of the building reminded me more of the Lions of Venice than the capital of Malta. One of many impressive buildings in Valetta. Great views looking out over the island and the Grand Harbour.

Built in 1574 by the Italian Knights of the Order of St John, this is one building that you might walk by and continue to pass, unless you look up. When looking up, note the fine architecture.

The building is one of eight barracks of Knights of Malta built in Valletta in 1570. It was built for knights from Italy. Auberge is located on Triq il-Merkanti, on the opposite side there is the Castilian Inn.

Walking down Merchant street or Tiq Il-Merkanti we were surprised to see this unique building just next to the church of St.Catherine's. We learnt it was the Auberge (loding house) of the Knights of the Order of Saint John from Italy built in late 16th Century. The building has the unique order of serving as and Auberge initially then military headquarters, an officers' mess, a museum, a school of arts, a courthouse, the General Post Office and various government departments until now it is used as the Malta Tourism Authority office. It is said to be under renovations to make it a National Museum of Fine Arts ! Indeed a multi purpose building with a rich history to narrate !
