This really is a case of don't judge a book by it's cover. We've walked past this house many times in the past but mainly due to Trip Advisor reviews we thought it was time to look in. This is a lovely house which is still lived in. This gives you real insight into Maltese properties, how they have been... More

Delightful visit to Casa Bernard in Rabat, Malta. We were given a guided tour by a very knowledgable lady who speak excellent English. It's a real gem of a building with a fascinating history - interesting furniture, art work and artefacts. Just beautiful. Tours are very personalised - just two of us were given the tour and at 8€ it... More

We passed this on our way to Rabat from Mdina, and went in on a total whim. We were warmly greeted by the owners (a retired married couple of former university lecturers) and their very friendly dog. We quickly realised this was no ordinary house, or tour as the guide knew every little detail about every item on display. Mixed... More

This house has been constructed in 2-3 parts and has an interesting architectural structure. Owners restore each room one after another. They have a beautiful collection coming from Malte, France, Britain, Japan and so on. Owners are very friendly and the wife can also speak in French. During the visit she interacts with people asking question and you try to... More

Staying in Sliema we took advantage of a Malta transport bus card ( which is great value) and had a few hours in Rabat and Mdina. While in Rabat we saw this house and rang the door bell. The lady owner took us round what is an excellent property showing how a fine house can be maintained with care. The... More

Not so much a tour, as a very agreeable and leisurely 2-hour chat with the owner whilst he explained the history of his elegant home and its furniture and paintings.

This intimate tour of a family's home brings three-hundred-years of history to life through the decorative objects-paintings, sculpture, furniture, bibelots, silver ("never plated") and numerous collections that comprise the Bernard family home. The forty-minute tour evolved into a delightful 90 minutes as Mr. Bernard escorted us through the obviously still-occupied family home, raconteuring the three of us with tales linking... More

We came on Sunday, first, and unfortunately it was closed, so we had to go back again on Monday. We are so glad we did, because it was well worth it!!! The charming owner shows you around the house, introducing his amazing art and antiques collection.

We trie to visit this attraction twice during our recent visit to Rabat. The information on wall says tours are run on the hour every hour, the notice on the door says to ring the bell for the tour. We first rang the ball at 2 pm, we waited, and waited then tried ringing the bell again. No response. Not... More

This person seems to have rung the wrong bell! The notice on the glass door SPECIFICALLY says " Please ring the 2 bells".One bell is linked to the kitchen and the staff would have gone home by then,2p.m.Hence no response.BUT the mistake was that this person did not ring the other bell, the INTERCOM, which is linked to all the rooms...
