Now that the renovation is over, this amazing Citadel is in a class of its own. In the evenings it is especially evocative.

Wow! We were truly awestruck by not only the renovations done to the citadel but also the care and attention given to depict the history of Gozo through the ages.

One more amazing historical site in Malta. Take your time to walk through the small streets and appreciate the beautiful view of the island.

You can have a great walk and explore around the whole of the citadel giving you amazing views of Gozo, there are also various little shops and you can visit the cathedral (charged) which is quite an amazing building in itself

It lovely to visit the Citadel when you're in Gozo. You will find out about the history behind it then roam around and even have some ice cream or coffee. My dog Millie enjoyed it too :)

It's a bit of a treck up to the citadel but there are good views from the top. It's a fee attraction.

Truly a must visit part of Gozitan history, this bright stone construction is a marvellous mixture of narrow streets and wide open spaces from which to take great photos.

The Mgarr marina website says that things are closed on Sunday but tourist malta site said museums are open Monday-Sunday. I know the Citadel is open to wander around, but does anyone know about the old prison and the folklore museum?
