The massive golden glowing local limestone of the Cittadella looms over Gozo; utterly impregnable to attack. There have been defensive castles on this site since time immemorial and several excellent museums within the Cittadella attest to this. A MUST visit on Gozo.

Walk around and discover a gen in the Mediterranean. Visit the cathedral and look up twice at the dome.

So peaceful. Narrow lanes, beautiful historic visit.park near his terminal/market signed left as you approach the town from Mgarr. Miss the sign and you'll need to drive all the way around the one way system. Narrow and busy!!

Not surprisingly, the high ground is a desirable defensive position, so both Mdina on the island of Malta and Victoria on the island of Gozo have fortifications built at these high points. In the case of Victoria, it is obviously smaller than the entirety of...More

Went to Gozo for Dwejra and had to transfer in Victoria so we went to the citadel. Glad we went. It’s a fortified city preserved so well. Walking in it was amazing. The view was very nice. Definitely recommend.

Amazing old citadel on the hill above Victoria. We had an hour to look around which was nowhere near enough time. You can go around the citadel for free, however there are a few museums here which will require a ticket to be purchased.

The citadel is quite compact and easy to follow way signs. The visitor centre is well worth paying the fee, it features regular structured tours based on language. This includes entertaining audio visual illustrating the history of the citadel, Gozo and Malta. It lasts about...More

Yes, you can walk around the citadel at night, in fact it is a lovely time to see it, as there are no tourists around. The lights of various towns can be seen on Gozo which is also great to see. We wandered up there after... More

There's a small car park at the top of the hill next to the wall, very close to the entrance. We paid around 2€ for as long as we wanted.

Reference should be ok but check with the agent. He should have given you a phone number. Or ask your hotel to check.
