Although we knew the cave was closed we still went to see as the views are spectacular. And if you go down to Ramla beach you can look up and see the caves.

The cave itself was not very impressive. We went through but just after a few steps we were not actually permitted to go any further as it was closed. The view of the Ramla I-Hamra was beautiful from the top and it was green all...More

Walk there from Xaghra is pleasant and great views of Ramla Bay but the Cave is now fenced off as it is dangerous to view it.

A bit of an anticlimax this site. It has been cordoned off as entering is obviously quite dangerous. One has to use one's imagination in view of the cave location on a hilltop and the sandy beach below where Ulysses was shipwrecked. The path from...More

As most of the reviews point out, there is no longer any cave... a nice viewpoint, there is a mobile snackbar and toilets but no cave. Take the track down the Ramla bay for a nice walk. There are other caves such as Mixtla cave...More

The title says it all. On a good day, the views across Ramla Bay are stunning, but don't go expecting to see the cave. The cave was closed some years ago. There is a reasonable viewing area, but not much else.

Although you can’t into the cave anymore, the views from atop are beautiful! It is a great vantage point to see Ramla bay and surrounding countryside. It’s a short walk uphill from Ramla beach. Just follow the paths! The legend is that the cave is...More

10 years ago was worth a visit, sadly it has not been maintained and is no longer safe to enter. Great view of the countryside helps make up for the neglected cave.

The Calypso Cave is on top of a cliff overlooking an orange colored beach (Ralma Beach). The Cave itself cannot be visited and half of the sight-seeing balcony was barred for precautionery measures. The local Tourist Board should try and expand the experience provided to...More

Billed as the cave where Calypso seduced Odysseus and then kept him here for 7 years, but the cave has been shut for some years and you cannot even look from outside in. Instead, you get a congested site and an okay view across Ramla...More

No. You could drive to the Blue Lagoon walk and swim from there. But to dive there you would usually take a boat trip.
