This was obviously a very popular boat trip when this rock feature existed but it’s gone since 2017. Nevertheless it’s an exciting little boat trip through the cliffs from the ‘inner sea’ to the outer. Into a couple of caves and views of the big limestone cliffs. It’s only €4 each and takes about half an hour included queuing.

There isnt a window currently, the rock frame that made the window frame look, was destroyed by storm a couple years ago. Nonetheless if you , like me, didnt get to experience it before, you will not miss it. This entire area is still quite beautiful. However from previous pictures, I'm sure it added much beauty and relevance to this location where the Game of Thrones was filmed.
It's a sure must-visit.

This is still a very beautiful place with such a sad story. I didn’t know it until my jeep tour, as it wasn’t really on my list of places to visit. The little boat will take you on a ride all around the cliffs for just 4€. It’s really breathtaking and definitely worth taking that boat ride.

Hike down to the water front followed by a delicious meal - really fresh food. Complementary bruschetta - wonderful service. Would recommend a visit particularly close to sunset when you can enjoy the views

It is sad that the window was destroyed by a huge storm a couple of years ago. It is still worth a visit for several reasons. The Blue Hole, in the foreground of your picture, is a popular diving, swimming and snorkelling site. The site was used in Game of Thrones so fans may be interested. The Dwejra inland sea is adjacent and is linked to the open sea via a small arch in the high cliff and is also popular for swimming, snorkelling and diving. The sunsets are lovely and can be preceded by a sundowner at one of the cafes, or just stop there for lunch or dinner.
Although the Azure window is no more, just round the coast to the north is the Wied il-Mielah window. Not quite on the same scale and off the beaten track so hard to find.

Dwejra Bay, once home to the famous Azure Window, is not as impressive now that the rock formation has collapsed. What remains are some caves and cliffs, which are interesting but not particularly remarkable. The site is still heavily visited, with buses bringing in tourists regularly.
You can peer over the rocks to see the remains of the Azure Window or take a short boat tour around the caves, which might be enjoyable for children. There is a restaurant nearby called Blue Window Restaurant, but it doesn’t offer the stunning views you might expect. The food is decent, and the staff is friendly, but overall, the area feels like a shadow of its former self. There are also several small shops in the area, but they mostly cater to tourists.

You can see the azure window and behind the church you will find a small bay and an entrance to a cave. From that small harbor you can pay 5€ to get on a boat and a local will take you on a 15min ride inside and out some caves and talk about the rock formations. You will also find a circular natural pool where you can swim

The Azure window has fallen down on 8th March 2017 but the area is still worth a visit. Experience the inland sea and General's Rock. Also, be aware that during the night the place is kept in total darkness on purpose. One can experience the night sky without any light pollution.

Make an effort to go here if you are on Gozo. There is some parking and a short walk takes you to a view point. There are also some steps where you can go down almost to sea level. People were squeezing past the locked gate - probably there because a section of the hand rail is missing. Superb place for photos.

The blue window is no longer there above the sea, we saw it in the water. Take your snorkel, rock shoes and fins and be prepared for the strong current. We visited the blue hole, which is in front of where the window used to be. The setting is beautiful but there’s not a lot of sea life if you are snorkelling. All the divers are going here so be prepared for lots of air bubbles. A short hike over the rocks and across the car park you can walk down to swim across to the caves.

Bonjour,
Cordialement

Hi
Can someone please let me know from where you can get boat to Azure Window??and how long the boat trip takes??
Many thanks
Written 5 April 2016
Walk away from the window/water and across the parking lot. There is a small path that leads down to a lagoon with docks. You catch the boat off those docks. They do not usually start the tour until the boat is full or almost full, so if you are the first one to arrive to a boat, be prepared to wait patiently. As I recall, it was about 4 euros/person for the trip (summer 2016) ... and worth every cent!
