This place was one of the most spectacular things I've ever seen in my life. Beautiful colors. Such a unique and incredible experience.

We were given fantastic advice- walk right up to the glacier (carefully) even when it tells you not to cross. It is a little icy so be careful, but being up close to this glacier is jaw dropping.

Travelers can just drive car to the carpark and walk close to the lakeside to see this glacier closely if not planning to join any glacier walk tour, its totally free and worth to drive if passed by Skogafoss.

The view is very impressive from every point of view. A different type of glacier. Take a tour since they have a lot to tell.

Had one of our best adventures in Iceland here. Had hiked a glacier in New Zealand but it does not even compare to this one. Gorgeous views and close views of a living glacier! Our guide was outstanding, informative, patient, and helpful. Recommend hike in...More

You can access Myrdalsjokull Glacier through Sólheimajökull Glacier, which is one of the tongues that comes down a valley. There is a free car park, where an easy 20-30 mins path can brings you close to the glacier. But to actually get onto the glacier,...More

I was there in winter season. I know that on some of the glaciers snowmobiling is possible all year around. Pls check with Iceland Tourist Board or some of the adventure companies. Enjoy!
