We very much enjoyed this experience while you can't climb the the ice easily alone you most certainly can enjoy the experience without a guide. We didn't go far onto the glacier we got fabulous photos and had no issues wearing boots and snow clothing.

We took the Defender up the track as far as we could before we hit the snow line, and closed road. Got out to see the amazing rocks, lava formations and views. Wow out of this world. Take that 4x4 and use it to get to see what the coaches cannot see!

another glacier close to the Ring Road and absolutely beautiful. You do not have the impression to be only 1km away from the main road. Must see!

The size of this glacier is just mindboggling. There is a frozen lake in front it and beautiful ice formations jutting out. It's a moderately long walk from the car park. Do not attempt to go on the glacier without a guide (guides will stop you) and don't walk on the lake. Definitely go see it, it was amazing.

Wasn't sure what to expect as I had never seen a glacier and Myrdalsjokull did not disappoint. In a monochromatic landscape the glacier had blue hue and the water was frozen. It was spellbinding! Cant wait to go back and explore more of Iceland!

just a short drive from route 1 and short walk from a large carpark and you get to enjoy this beautiful glacier you really can get right up and personnal, we just found a spot to sit back and watch the intrepid walkers going up onto the glacier then you really appreciate how big it is.

Surrounded by gorgeous mountains, and equipped appropriately with crampons, helmets , instructions and ice axes our group with Extreme Iceland ascended the glacier. The formations and colours are majestic and we followed in single file up, up, up and across the glacier for over an hour. It was strenuous but fun and we made a few stops for photographs. Our... A short walk from the car park will take you to the edge of this awesome, photogenic Glacier that was popular with many visitors both on & off the glacier

Didn't do the organised walk n the glacier due to time. But did walk along on the path to it. Amazing sights on the way, great information boards about the glacier and how it is retreating. When you see it, it does take your breath away. Beautiful wonder of the world with so much beauty in its shapes. Loved it
