    A delightful stop
This was a "surprise" port for Sky Princess due to a major north atlantic storm. There were lots of waterfalls on the fjord. We didn't have time to research so we just wandered around. The weather was perfect, the little town picturesque. The shop doesn't open until 10 so we sat by the water enjoying the scenery. Staff in the shop were very friendly and we were able to buy a stamp, postcard and licorice.

    Unfortunately couldn’t visit the church!
Part of our organized tour, we drove around this town had a short stop . Lot’s of waterfalls to see on the way to the town . The town is fairly easy to walk around but there is some inclines and some steps. Unfortunately in 2020, the town suffered from a substantial landslide that affected directly and undirect the citizens. There was a functional at the church so we couldn’t visit inside but we did see the rainbow walkway that leads to the church.

Photo op! Visit little blue church at the end of the rainbow road
If you're lucky, your Iceland itinerary will feature a stop in picturesque Seyðisfjörður and it's almost impossible to miss the charming little blue church at the end of the rainbow road. Every tourist seems to take their picture on the rainbow road, but the church itself is also sweet. Inside is a pipe organ and it's open to visitors for seemingly catch-as-catch-can hours in the summer.

    A “Must Do” in Seydisfjordur
We first ventured by at about 10 am and the church was locked. Went back about 2 PM and it was open. Couple of interesting sculptures in their garden. Glad we went back! Simple Scandinavian architecture and beautiful wedgewood blue/white interior. Small and very peaceful! Highly recommend!

    Cute little village
This pretty Blue Church is an iconic sight. Rainbow Road is a rainbow brick path that shows love for its LBGTQ residents. The colourful Norwegian style wooden houses render this village unique in Iceland.

The most sight spot in Iceland
Seydisfjordur, in the Eastern Fjords, is one of the most picturesque villages in Iceland, as well as one of the country's main cruise ports. Surrounded by snowcapped mountains and waterfalls, the most prominent natural landmarks are Mt. Bjólfur (1085m) to the west and Strandartindur (1010m) to the east, both of which are a part of Iceland’s seven peak hike. Blue Church: Seydisfjordur Church is one of the town's most emblematic monuments.

The road and journey in is the best bit, the church and rainbow street are pretty - but the place was absolutely full of (a docked) cruise ship tourists.

Lovely little church to spend a few minutes of contemplation, in a fabulous setting, easy walking distance from the port.

Seydisfjordur is a cute and cozy little town with the church in the center of it. But the road from Seydisfjordur to Egilsstaðir (Rt 93) is what makes the trip especially attractive. It's stunningly beautiful.

This is the rainbow road church that has become famous because of the painting on the road that leads up to the church. It is very popular for tourists to take pics down the road with the church at the end.
