Met the bus on a rainy, miserable Sunday morning not really expecting too much but I was wrong!
Claus was a brilliant guide. He was so knowledgeable about every aspect of the tour and was very engaging. We also had Christian as a shadow-guide who told us some stories and kept us entertained with his singing.
First stop was Skógafoss waterfall. Absolutely beautiful place. When we got back on the bus Claus said we'd go to Vik next for lunch as the rain was due to clear. Beautiful village, gorgeous scenery. Stopped for a while here for lunch and a walk around. Then we headed to Reynisfjara black sand beach, but due to weather the red warning was on advising us against going onto the beach. The waves were scary looking so we stayed well back. Would have loved to go to the cave but it wasn't worth the risk of sneaker waves. Then we went to Sólheimajökull glacier. Another sight to behold. Finally we stopped at Seljalandsfoss waterfall.
Although it was a long-ish day, it was most enjoyable. It would be a gorgeous tour to do during the summer when views would be better, but Claus made it fun for us and we got to see some wonderful sights.
