Awesome trip.
My boys and myself booked ourselves on. There was a slight issue with our booking but everyone pulled out all the stops to make sure we could go.
The experience was amazing. From the journey to the glacier (which was in a cool huge bus on steroids) to the actual snowmobiling, it was tons of fun.
Knowledgable, friendly, well organised, i cannot recommend it enough and snowmobiling should be on everyone bucketlist.
Big shoot out Sigrún at Iceland Adventure Tours for helping make my kids dreams come true.
Go for it, you won’t regret it.

We would like to thank you for an outstanding two day private tour of the south and southeast. It met all of our expectations and more. You (Sigrún and Valgeiur) are both wonderful hosts, and you did everything you could to make this a very memorable trip. We highly recommend you and your company to anyone who wants to visit Iceland. We did a 5 day trip . Peninsula tour and Golden Ring. The countryside is beautiful in its own natural state! My favourites on the trip were the Ice Cave hike and the Sky Lagoon. What made our trip exceptional was our guide Nick! He went above and beyond sharing stories history music. He made Iceland very memorable for us!!!!!

We were in port on a Viking cruise ship and had prearranged for Iceland Adventure Tours to pick us up at the port and take us to The Lava Tunnel tour at 1:00 pm. We arrived a little before that time and they never showed up. After we called them, they said they had been there at 12:30 to pick us up. Our tickets said clearly 1:00 pm. They offered no refund and our party of six was out $(US) 546.

Dear Customers
I am sad to hear that you are disappointed, first of all you booked a Lava Tunnel Tour from us, operated by our very nice partners The Lava Tunnel, you had your pickup at the the Cruise Ship Service Center at 12:30 not 13:00
We contacted the tour operator to see about a refund, they said that since they cannot resell these seats they could not offer any refunds. Again I am sorry that you were disappointed with us, we did everything we could do.
I hope you have a good day
Best regards

Our whale watching excursion with Iceland Adventure Tours turned into a dolphin watching and whale jumping tour! We had all sort of marine life interacting with us, and the boat spotters would be keen to take us to sites of recent activity. While sometimes the fish and mammals are secretive and dart away, we were lucky that on our day we had a lot of action. Iceland Adventure Tours was easy to get to (taxi is easier, parking lots were kind of weird) being right on the main crescent harbour, and there was a nice cafe with hot tea and cocoa right across the exit when we came back off the water. Super great way to spend the morning - no matter what!

I can't pick a particular activity as my favorite, Everything was spectacular! I loved the Glacier Hike, the Geo-Thermal Pool, and the Whales. They were all incredible experiences made even better by our very professional guide Alvaro. Alvaro's knowledge of Iceland, his attention to detail throughout the trip, and his kindness were all big factors in the success of our trip. I will highly recommend Arctic Adventures to anyone who plans a visit to Iceland.

Great tour in some extreme conditions (snow & wind). Driver very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. Everything ran to time and pick-up/drop off was easy. My only criticism would be is the heating on the bus was faulty so when we got caught in a sudden storm at one of the viewing locations and soak through despite wearing waterproof clothing we were unable to dry off quickly on the bus.

Went snorkeling and it was a once in a lifetime experience. First off; tips for wearing a dry suit. It was not very comfortable and I was getting slightly panicked with how tight things were; once I calmed down it was okay. In the water I forgot all about the tightness. You stay super warm except for the hands and lips. Our tour guides were great. You don't stay in the water for super long but just long enough. Any longer and my lips would have frozen. I would definitely recommend, just remember to breathe when in the dry suit.

I would never use this company again when visiting Iceland, unless I am exclusively booking airport transfers. We utilized Iceland adventure tours to book an airport transfer and to also book a 2 day tour. The airport transfer was just fine, hence why they’re getting 2 stars. If we had only utilized them for the 2 day tour, it would be 1 star.
Where to start? There was so much that went wrong with our tour, i can’t begin to write about it all - so I’ll focus on the 2 biggest issues we had. The first, our tour guide said ALMOST NOTHING for the entirety of our TWO DAY tour. And second, the company lied to us about what the tour would entail and then wouldn’t take accountability for that.
First - the tour guide. I’m not sure about you, but when I book a tour, my expectation is to be educated and have the sights explained to me. The most we heard at each site from our driver was generic instructions on how to walk to get there and how many minutes we had to return to the bus. Nothing else. We were really disappointed, as one of the reasons we book tours is to be…toured. If we just wanted a driver we could have hired a driver ourselves. So the bus was awkwardly silent for 2 days (driver didn’t even play music). My husband and I kept waiting for “the tour to start” and it never did. We asked other people on the tour if they had expected the driver to talk, and they also thought it was really weird that be wasn’t and were disappointed in that.
2 - the company lying to us. When booking this tour, i made it clear to the company that an important thing to us was trying to see the northern lights. So, during our (email) communications i asked about this tour “can you confirm if this includes northern lights hunting? If not - what would be the cost to add that?”
The reply i got was “yes that is part of the tour ☺️ you will go and look for northern lights if the conditions are favorable to see them.”
I have the original emails and screenshots to prove we were told yes to hunting and yes to going and looking for.
When we got to the hotel, our driver gave us the usual spiel “be back at the bus at this time” but we were really confused - what about the lights hunting? So we asked the driver. (in fact EIGHT PEOPLE on the tour had been told we would go and look for the lights.) the driver told us that the conditions were favorable, told us where we could hike in the dark, but said he absolutely wasn’t taking us hunting for lights as that wasn’t part of the tour and that we had to call the company to figure it out. We were sure there was some kind of mistake, or maybe another guide was going to come to the hotel to pick us up. We called the company and after some back and forth they claimed that my understanding of hunting and go and look for is not accurate and that I should have known it meant “if the conditions are good they look out for Northern Lights on the way to the hote and during the night, and if the conditions are good and if there is any activity then you are able to see them from your hotel”.
I was upset, this wasn’t what was agreed to and they were refusing to own their mistake that I was told we would go and look (if the conditions were favorable), but then they backtracked and said they meant we might see them on the way to, and from the hotel. They also tried to claim the conditions weren’t favorable, which the driver told us they were and we had lights tracking apps which said they were. Finally, it wouldn’t have mattered if the conditions were or weren’t favorable, because they didn’t have anyone in place to go hunting and go and look for - as promised!
So we were beyond disappointed and had to book a separate excursion (not through Iceland adventure tours). We requested a 20% refund so that we could have a reasonable portion of the new excursion we needed to book covered. They refused to give anything more than a 10% refund. It felt like a slap in the face after being lied to and gaslighted.
There were so many other problems with this tour that, if we had allowed them to, they would have ruined our entire time in Iceland. However, we tried to just let go our disappointment and make the best of it.
Finally, this is a third party booking site (which wasn’t apparent to me on their website but is buried in their terms and conditions). Just as a general rule I don’t like using third party sites as I have found the delivery and customer service to be lacking, this was no different.

Dear Customer
I am so sorry to hear about your experience, we always want our customers to have the best time in our wonderful country. You booked a 2 day tour through us with one of our very trusted partners here in Iceland. I also have all our emails and I stand with everything I said there. You specifically asked about the Northern lights and I said that the guides will look out for them if the conditions are favorable, The Northern Lights are a natural phenomena and are very hard to predict, there are also other factors that have affect, like the weather. You were never promised a special Northern Lights Hunt Tour. You however got to see The Black Sand Beach, an Ice Cave, Waterfalls and Glacier Lagoon among other sites :)
I forwarded all your emails to the tour operator and they were willing to give you a 10% discount, you did not want that :( Again sorry about your experience
Best regards
Sigrún

After researching many different tours and operators, we chose Artic Adventures because of the good value for money and previous reviews. We booked the Golden Circle and the Black and Blue Lava Caving and Snorkelling Experience that were both amazing and a must do in Iceland. We had the same tour guide for both tours, Vjeran, who was very knowledgeable and a great laugh throughout the tours and ultimately made the tours. Thank you to Vjeran for our intro to Moses Hightower! Thanks, George & Aurelia.

Can you tell me what active tours I can put together that will see all of Iceland from ice caves, seacoast, fishing villages, culture glaciers, waterfalls with hiking etc etc
Unnur Silfa
Reykjavik, Iceland
Hi Claire, there are plenty of options for active tours in Iceland.
If you visit our website, you can see many options. On the South Coast you can, for example, visit the Katla Ice Cave year round. The tour departs from Vík.
On the South Coast you can also go glacier hiking on either Sólheimajökull glacier or in Skaftafell.
In this area of Iceland, you will find many famous waterfalls, such as Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfall.
If you need any help with putting together an itinerary for Iceland, you can always email us and we'll be happy to assist you!
Hi, can children do this snorkel? I have two boys ages 11 and 9.

I think when booking they did ask ages, weight and height. This is to gauge the size of dry suit needed. I think possibly they will do a minimum age. But check with the company directly they did respond to our enquiries quickly.

As far as I understood, yes it does. I was told that August and September is the best period though ... seems like the water temperature doesn’t change much but getting out of water is something else :-)

With prior clearance from a Dr could a pregnant woman partake and how large do the wetsuits go? Thanks you.
Hi there, no I am sorry we do not allow pregnant women to take part in the Silfra snorkeling tour, we just won't take the risk 😐

Hello - we are traveling to Iceland in June and were hoping to book a tour on June 23rd, but the calendar is either already booked (no availability) or doesn't go out that far. Is there availability on June 23rd for this tour?
