The gardens are lovely and there are information signs around letting you know what they are doing , plant names and other information. It should be noted that parts are a working project. I visited in April so many plants are dormant outside but the ones in the conservatory are full of bloom. There is plenty of wildlife too including... More

In late March, when we visited, there was little in bloom. It was still a beautiful place to walk through, though. There is a small indoor cafe on the grounds that is beautiful. While it was open in the morning for breakfast when we first passed by on a run, it was closed by the time we made it back... More

It was snowing this morning so we were looking for somewhere close to the hotel for a nice walk. We found it in the form of the gardens, although alot of it was under a layer of snow there were nice even paths and a green house with toilets. There is also a cafe which opens in the summer. In... if you're into plants, and learning more about the country you're in, take a stroll through this beautiful park! its next to the pool/sauna/hot tubs and the zoo and very much worth a visit. there's nice sculptures and even a little stone and sod hut where urban elves live if you poke around long enough!

Altho not that large, I was impressed that Reykjavik had enough greenery to have a botanic gardens,. Of course, with the geothermal water, I should have guessed. Some unique flowers.

Really nice place to explore. Discovered by accident with access via the Reykjavik campsite. Adjacent park with hot spring which was originally where clothes were washed. Lovely Flora cafe in the gardens with a coffee cake soup etc.

Great for a stroll or jog in the sunshine. Strangely hard to locate - the trip adviser mapping is wrong - the botanic gardens are located in the centre of the larger park behind the sports stadium. There is a lack of signage at the gates. Free to enter. Don't miss Cafe Florian.

We didn't spend as much time as I would have liked exploring the Botanical Garden, but what we saw was very pretty. I am a lover of botanical gardens, and while this isn't the most impressive one I have seen, I still very much enjoyed it. This is a free attraction, so it is great for travelers on a budget.... We walked from our hotel to this garden. we had a coffee and then walked the garden, its not large but free. The most interesting was the towns laundry which is well described in both Icelandic and English. Show an interesting aspect of the social history of the laundry. Great planting in this area giving the look of soap suds... More

We came to the gardens on a grey drizzly August day, and headed to Cafe Flora a bistro in a greenhouse. It was wonderful both as an environment and as a culinary delight. Excellent salmon salad and bean soup with breads. We came back later to sample their very good selection of deserts.
