For a national art museum I was taken aback by how few pieces of art were on display here. I happened to visit on Culture Day, when admission was free. That was a bonus because I think I would have been a little upset if...More

This was our second stop with our Reykjavik City Card that gave us free admission. I would recommend this Museum if you purchased a City Card. I would be less certain recommending it without one because it is a smaller museum and the value might...More

An ice house in 1916. The ice was taken from the pond and kept there until needed to keep food fresh and dead fish. Now it's a gallery. Pretty building. A nice visit. Nice location.

My husband chose this attraction and we were not disappointed. The first room made us laugh out loud - multicoloured artificial hair! Great fun. Then upstairs to the treasures room, many Danish artists initially - my favourite here is Human Flora. Then, on to the...More

The building is gorgeous and the layout of the museum is wonderful but the collection itself is not worth the steep admission price (unless you have purchased a Reykjavik city card). If you have a limited time, I would say you an skip it altogether...More
