Don´t miss out on the unforgettable experience Special Tours offers you in whale watching in Reykjavik, Iceland: Whale Watching Express! Our whale watching boat, Rósin (The Rose), offers an absolute innovation in whale watching adventures in Iceland, it is fast and a luxurious whale watching boat, one of its kind in Iceland, providing security and luxury for all. The boat is both safe and quiet, as well as being equipped with the latest technology. The whale watching tours start from the Reykjavik Old Harbour and during puffin season (1 May - 15 Aug) we sail past the puffin islands Akurey and Lundey, inhabited by thousands of puffins. From there it takes us only 15 - 20 minutes to get to where the whales are. In the whale watching tours you´ll see whales in their natural environment, quite up close and personal. The friendly guides and captain point out where to spot the whales on the surface of the sea and give you interesting information about the different kinds of whales you can expect to see.

I knew the chance to see whales wasn't the best this time of the year but I honestly just wanted to see the dolphins and go on a little adventure. Which is exactly what I got. Let me tell you, there are no discounts at the window when you walk up. You are better off booking this trip online via... More

Booked trip via Thomson ( experience not their fault ) they collected us from hotel at 12.15 took us to the harbour and we boarded the boat. They supply warm waterproof clothing which we would advise when sitting on the open decks. Headed out to the North Atlantic, a little rough at times but expected. However crew were walking around... Myself and my 2 sons decided to do the 3.5 hours whale watching tour from Reykjavik, we were picked up from our hotel and taken to the harbour after collecting others at other hotels. After the tour we were taken back to our hotel. We had booked our trip through Viator.com It was a large boat, with a seated indoor... More

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are sorry to hear that you did not see any whales out on your trip. Hello and thank you for taking the time to review our company. We are sorry that the tour did not meet your expectations but there are days where the sea is less than optimal. We arrived in Iceland at 10 am and where on the boat by one !!!! we did not see any whales(later to find out that after September the numbers go right down)but on a beautiful sunny day and with the sea calm (as it can be in the north atlantic) it was a wonderful experience to look back at the... Hello, and thank you for your kind review :) It can be lovely to be out on the bay when we have a clear day as the view of the mountains and the glacier Snæfellsjökull is definitely spectacular. It is true that we have higher sightings in the Summer months but in October we still had nearly 70% sighting success... More

I went on the tour two times in October. Unfortunately no whales were seen. The warm overalls were stinky and wet. Did not feel nice to put those on. The free wifi was only free if you liked the whale watching tours on Facebook. .

Whales did not come out to play when I went either although after speaking to a local, they mentioned at this time of year November the wales are all up north and we would have no chance of seeing them anyway! I did see a Dolphin though... I normally do not get sick on any type of boat but on... More

So today the whales didn't want to play, but it was still a great tour. The staff were really helpful and made us aware of the rough sea conditions (and have out free sea sickness tablets!). We were driven to a nearby port which was calmer and went out to sea. The commentary was very helpful but due to the... More

Meh. It's not their fault the northern lights weren't out, but the boat barely goes away from the city and the light from the peace tower is shining in your view the whole time (which the guide seemed to confuse as the beginning of the northern lights a couple of times, literally the whole boat was like "Um....no" and laughing).... The girl leading our tour was great, really friendly and knowledgeable. The views looking back at the land were also fantastic and we were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins. Two things that made this a bit of an unpleasant trip were that passengers were advised to go to the back of the boat if they felt seasick... More
