Volcano House is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the heart of Reykjavik. This is the place where one can learn about the Icelandic volcanoes by watching high quality film that were created for the Volcano House. Moreover, there is a great lava stones collection, souvenir shop and the collection of arts from famous Icelandic artists. We pride ourselves with of our multilingual staff many of whom have studied geology and so can add to the understanding of our customers.

This is a good starting off place to get acquainted with Iceland's geology. While I thought it was a little pricey for the films, they were informative. If you are somewhat of a geology buff, you will like this. While it is not very extensive,...More

Really interesting documentaries from 70's and 2010 regarding volcanic eruptions. Took roughly 1 hour and 2k per head for the movie. Small movie theatre and really comfy seats. Opportunity to purchase volcanic ash and other memorabilia. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked...More

A little dry but both videos give a super overview of life in the shadows of volcanos. Mother Nature is Powerful and her timing is unexpected! go here first, then the countryside full of volcanos will make better sense.More

What a find! In fact it was hard to find as it's off the beaten track. The documentary on the volcanoes of Iceland is an extraordinary tale of the power of nature and the determination of the rugged Icelandic people. I gained a new appreciation...More

Take a walk through the Volcano House to get information about Iceland's volcanoes and the effect on the people and towns. This was helpful for us as we did not have time to take a volcano tour.
