Volcano House is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the heart of Reykjavik. This is the place where one can learn about the Icelandic volcanoes by watching high quality film that were created for the Volcano House. Moreover, there is a great lava stones collection, souvenir shop and the collection of arts from famous Icelandic artists. We pride ourselves with of our multilingual staff many of whom have studied geology and so can add to the understanding of our customers.

The volcano exhibit is low key. It's worth exploring. You do learn about volcanos, pumice, and volcanic ash - which is very relevant because Iceland is filled with marvelous volcanic aftermath. In my opinion, the best part of the Volcano House is the Tour Guide...More

Love this little place. The explanation signs were great with their own added comments that were amusing. Love that you can touch the rocks. Great place to go to after you eat fish and chips next door.

A tiny place - a room, adjunct to a restaurant, which is really a gift shop with a few exhibits and a video.

Worth a visit. Interesting films about volcanoes in Iceland. Fascinating to hear how Icelandics take volanic eruptions in their stride and how they dealt with eruption on Westerman Islands and Ejafajokull.

Fantastic Fish and "chips" Restaurant. Beautifully fried fish and the chips are actually diced potatoes with Garlic and Rosemary, lovely all the same. Large selection of fish on the menu some you may not be familiar with, a good special board with lots of choices....More
