The landscape was beautiful but i couldnt See that much because of all the clouds and the wind and the rain. I got wet over an over... The horses were nice and easy to handle but it had been awesome if at least one of the instructors would have told something about the area, the volcanoes and the Lava stones.... More

Me and 4 of my friends joined the lava horse riding tour. In general it was a rather positive experience but there were a few issues. On the positive note, the ride was enjoyable, the riding trail was very good and had some amazingly picturesque views. Most of the horses were really well trained and easy to control even for... First, let me say I am not a horse person, but the friend I traveled with is a huge horse fan, so I told her I would do a short horseback riding trip with her. Initially I was very nervous! I had only ridden a few times in my life. Because I wanted to experience a little bit of speed... More

Great tour, even though it rained a bit. I am not a huge fan of horses, but these pony's were a great size and very unintimidating. The guides were very helpful and nice. The tour might have lasted 20 minutes longer than I would've liked, sitting on a pony for 2 hours can start to get a bit uncomfortable. But... More

The company I had booked through arranged hotel puck up which was great. Upon arriving we were given helmets & introduced to our horses. They took the time to match us up to our horses & helped us out. Throughout the ride someone was always checking we were going ok. Was great to learn a little more about the horses... More

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We had very poor weather on the day but the guides were very encouraging and the horses more than willing to haul us around. This is by no means a geological tour but the scenery was beautiful nonetheless. My only complaint was that the horses were very much in need of a... More

We were a group of 4, one who had never been on a horse before. We had an efficient pick-up by Reykjavik Excursions and were taken out to the stables. Very nice staff who helped you select the right clothing - it was minus 5, so we nearly all opted for the fleecy all in one outfits. We were out... More

If you want a 'tour' that will give you a guided educated ride through lava fields, then this isn't for you. If you want a trek with pleasant and friendly guides, from an attraction that supplies all the kit (waterproofs,etc.....it was lashing it down when we went), then this is for you. It was difficult to rate this because on... More

The tour was great. I have ridden before so went in the more experienced group. It was good fun galloping through the lava fields and the horse had a great temperament. My friends went in the beginners group however and they said they did little more than walk through the fields so they were freezing by the end! I had... More

This was the largest group I had ever ridden with and my heart sank a little when they gave us a video first explaining how to ride but all was absolutely fine. It was a really efficient production line, pick up from hotel, drive out to the stables, some form filling and a drink then they got you geared up... More
