We were in Iceland with three other couples for a birthday celebration and hired Reykjavik Erupts for a three day tour of the country. Our guide was Dagur and he was fantastic! We got to see the week known sites on the island but he also brought us to some absolutely incredible sites off the beaten path. He was so knowledgeable about all aspects of Iceland and took some amazing photos of us that he sent after our return. I would highly recommend this tour company and Dagur specifically as your guide, you will not be disappointed!!

I recently went on a company trip to Iceland, and we were lucky enough to have Dofri as our guide. He brought an incredible amount of humor to the experience, which kept our whole team engaged and laughing the entire time. Beyond that, his local knowledge of Iceland was truly impressive—he shared fascinating insights about the country’s history, culture, and natural beauty that made the trip even more memorable. Whether it was pointing out hidden gems or telling us interesting stories about the places we visited, Dofri really made our company trip special. Highly recommend him as a guide!

We had an absolutely fantastic time with Dofri and can't recommend him highly enough. He tailored the trip to us and our needs and interests and showed us some gorgeous sites. He even found a restaurant that had vegan food for us and he helped our elderly relative, who struggled with walking.
Dofri is a consummate storyteller and brought the history of Iceland to life. He's also just a genuinely nice guy and is really lovely to spend time with.
Definitely have a private tour with Dofri!

We had an incredible day with Dofri on a recent trip to Reykjavik. We were coming to Iceland on a cruise ship, but wanted a personal experience in Reykjavik. We feel very lucky to have found Dofri and to have made a lifetime friend. Dofri met us at the cruise ship terminal as arranged and even offered a bonus of bringing his wonderful border collie guides with us. Being dog people, this added such a fun part to our day, and you have never met better behaved dogs. We had a 12 day cruise, and Dofri made this day so special that it was all of our favorite excursion for our entire trip.
Dofri is exceptionally knowledgeable about Iceland and Reykjavik, and cares deeply about making your day extra special and personal. He sought our feedback (and that of our teenagers) throughout the day to make sure that we were seeing what we most wanted to see and do, and he adjusted on the fly. His van is large, comfortable and very nice. We had comfortable accommodations for our day trip around the Golden Circle. Iceland is stunning. Dofri filled in the gaps to help us understand the history, context and details around each site visited, and in the landscape in between stops. He is laid back, easy going and friendly and very well spoken. He also happens to be a great photographer and took some amazing pics for us. Now, how to pick just one for the Christmas card!?! Dofri is a native Icelander and has worked in the film/tv industry, politics, tourism and is just a really cool guy. He appealed to adults and teens and made the day unique, fun and memorable. We felt like we had made a new friend in Iceland and want to stay in contact! Thank you Dofri for an unbelievably fun and interesting day. You helped us to fall in love with Iceland and gave us all a day we will remember forever. Come see us in Texas! We cannot recommend him highly enough for any tour you might like to take in and around Reykjavik. You cannot find a better guide to show you this amazing country.

Whether you plan this trip yourself or use a travel agent, Iceland is a must go to. I don't know why we've waited so long we were chasing the northern lights and we were rewarded twice. We used a company called Reykjavík excursions that canceled every single night so we had to see the lights on our own. The center of Reykjavik is a hub of delicious food. Friendly people awesome live music every single night loved the Irish pub and the bar that looks like a library on the main street. The center hotels are wonderful. Had a great direct flight on Icelandic air from Seattle. Takk icelavd

We had the absolute pleasure of being guided around Iceland by Dofri a true Icelander who's knowledge of the areas, locations, terrains geology and stories is unmatchable. It was truly a remarkable experience. We all met initially as strangers, but I can confidently say, left as friends. It's a time I will never forget and there isn't a single bad word to say.
We opted for a unique itinerary that was catered to our desires. As we are familiar with the main attractions of Iceland, we asked for a different kind of tour that included places we haven't seen, and it was delivered beyond our expectations.
We saw some of the most spectacular and awe inspiring locations, that I had never even heard of prior to this tour.
The ride in the vehicle itself was comfortable and there was enough room for all our bags every practicality was met. There was even an option to have his adorable dogs come along too and meet his real Icelandic horses! Just an added benefit.
There's a truly personal touch to these tours that I haven't experienced anything like before. If I had the option to do this again, I would in a heartbeat. The tour and the guide has made me fall in love with a version of Iceland that I never knew existed on a much different level of appreciation than I had prior.
My words and photos can only express so little and definitely do not do these phenomenap, surreal landscapes justice. Take my word for it, you'll just have to experience it for yourself.

We only had a short trip of 3 days in Iceland so it’s hard to find a tour that will let you see some of the highlights of this amazing country that feels personal and relaxed. Dofri and his amazing canine companions Hneta and Kvika tick every box! We had a hugely enjoyable day seeing the sights of the Golden Cicle, Dofri is a warm, fun and very easygoing guy who manages to combine deep and passionate knowledge of his homeland with amazing stories of the past. He was fantastic with the kids and played games and kept their interest high all day, not an easy task as any parent would know! While we visited well known places, we always felt away from the crowds, and the lunch at the dairy farm was so good.
Thank you so much for one of the highlights of our travels Dofri and we hope to see you in New Zealand sometime! Simon, Caroline, Max and Sisi

Spending three days with Reykjavík Erupts was hands down the best decision I made when planning a recent winter holiday in Iceland. It was great not having to deal with the logistics of weather related changes, driving in inclement weather, etc. Dofri, my guide, had a wealth of knowledge and navigated the various factors involved and was always on the hunt for hidden gems in the areas we covered…while maximizing daylight hours and covering the best places (subjective, the entire country is amazing) on the West/South coast, making the entire experience 100% customized and unique. In my case, I wanted to visit places with less tourists and priceless views and soak in the endless ‘cookies and cream’ landscape. The only disappointment was none of the volcanos erupted on trip, but there’s always next time…

We had a once in a lifetime full day private tour with Dofri. We were there the day the volcano erupted in 8/2022. Dofri took us around to see a crater and other natural wonders. Then we got word that the volcano erupted. As a member of Search and Rescue he was able to get intel to get us as close to the site as possible safely. What was to be an 8 hour hiking and sight seeing day day turned into a 12 hour epic journey of awe. We all shared the day. Dofri made this possible because of his skill and deep knowledge and his connections.
Dofri is a warm, engaging and humble man with lifetimes of experiences to share. His communication skills are superb and we learned so much about the land we were seeing. I got the sense that he was sharing his beloved country with us and not just touring us around to see things.
I highly recommend spending time with this man. He is a great teacher and his commitment to the craft of guiding and sharing is so very real.
Dofri is a warm, engaging and humble man with lifetimes of experiences to share. His communication skills are superb and we learned so much about the land we were seeing. I got the sense that he was sharing his beloved country with us and not just touring us around to see things.
I highly recommend spending time with this man. He is a great teacher and his commitment to the craft of guiding and sharing is so very real.

The chances of having an eruption starting on the tour up to last year's lava field are none, still, it happened. :D
I hope to see you again someday, I'm sure we could talk for days and I would love to show you the West of Iceland - yet to be discovered by travelers.
