First contrary to the belief Sun Voyager is not a symbol of a viking ship. And there were long discussions where to place it. However I must say the city took a good decision and put the sculpture at the sea side looking at the mountains. It represents a dreamboat, an ode to the sun and considering that the sculptor... Stopped by for a photo at this iconic sculpture while we were exploring the harbour. On a clear day you could probably see the snow-capped mountains at the back ground. If you are pressed for time then give this a miss.

This is a pretty nice sculpture, but there's nothing really to it - it depicts a Viking ship, and is located at a place with a pretty nice view. It IS a nice sculpture, so be sure to take the small detour from the shopping street to get a view.

Fantastic statue on the harbour overlooking the sea and snow mountains. Great to visit along with the other buildings on the sea front

It was really windy but we managed to find a parking spot close by so after taking a few pictures we could get back into warmth quickly.

This is an iconic sculpture nice to photo at dusk and along from the concert hall on the seafront. If you cross the road and walk up you will eventually come to the church.
