There was something about these falls that was just entrancing. We really just stumbled on these falls on the way to our In the Glacier tour. The falls are not tall but they stretch out for several hundred yards and are fed by a fast...More

Maybe we were a bit spoiled with natural wonders during our road-trip across Iceland, but Hraunfossar just lacked a bit of the "wow" factor. It's nice for a quick stop/over if you've got plenty of time, but it's also OK to skip it if you're...More

We drove to Hraunfossar and Barnafoss from Pingliveur National Park. These are two nice falls, accessible from the same parking lot. The trail system is nice and fairly level. There are some more difficult parts if you want. There is also a cafe with a...More

There are two waterfalls , just close to each other and in walkin distance. There is a possibility to watch the waterfalls from bith sides. A bridge is crossing the water. There is a small restauarant to have a snack. Parkings is for free.

I think this waterfall was my favourite while visiting Iceland. Quite different with the powerful Barnafoss at the head rushing through the rock and then the main river powers down while Hraunfossar enters from a side. Different and attractive.

This was one of the last stops on our way back to Reykjavik and despite the cold, rainy day bringing us down a bit, the falls were amazing. We didn't get pestered for a parking fee like some of the other reviews mentioned. Walk back...More

We stopped here on the way to Husafell. The walk was a nice way to stretch one's legs. The falls are not big but very pleasant and there was plenty of parking on the June day we stopped here, even with two buses. Definitely worth...More

We have seen dozens of waterfalls in Iceland, but this one was different. It seemed to coming out of a lava wall. There are walkways and paths throughout the area that make it easy to view the "falls" from different directions. It is definitely worth...More

Hraunfossar : water fall, in true sense it is water flowing . It is a series of small waterfalls, hardly 2 meter high at some places but spread over ce of about 900 metres. This is flowing thro' Hallmundarhraun, a lava field which flowed from...More

Nice stop for photos and a place to stretch your legs. Path is easy and accessible to everyone. The rapids were interesting. There is a restaurant very close although we didn't try it

Kind of unique in the falls category in Iceland. The falls are actually water pouring out of a river bank wall about the length of 2 football pitches. Cool view for a quick stop, but not a must see.
