Hraunfossar is very pretty and worth visiting. The water flows down a lava field which is covered with vegetation and emerges into the river. The fall is long and wide but not high. It's worth seeing for some interesting photos. Barnafoss is in the same...More

The waterfall itself was gret, but the viewing platforms were very far away from the waterfall because they are way higher. It would have been nice to see the waterfalls from a bit closer. Good facilities. Plenty of parking space.

This sight was well worth the hour long stop we spent here. There are some walking paths where you can walk along and get some different views of the falls. There is a café and washrooms on site but it would have been nice if...More

This is a very nice area, not too crowded. There is a set of trails, you can go upstream to see barnacles, a more traditional falls, and walk back down the river to see rainforests, where the water seems to come from the rocks along...More

If you skip this stop your making a big mistake. There is a new service house by the parking lot with some great coffee and snacks. Trails will lead you to view points overlooking the magical waterfalls.

The wide long strip of small waterfalls of Hraunofossar integrated well with the landscape of the neighborhood. I wish so much to hike around the place to have a better and closer view of the waterfall, but the roads are closed due to winter season.

Unusual since the falls are so wide and there's another area with gushing water that's pretty cool but not much else to see here.

A toddler is better off on a self tour, mine got irritable at unpredictable intervals for diaper change, walk, etcetera.
