There are very few geyser regions in the world, and Iceland has one of the best. Make sure you travel to this area to witness the geysers that spout all day long. Amazing!! With the popularity of Iceland over recent years, this area is beginning to get a little too touristy, but the geysers are still au natural!!

Such a wonderful experience to witness this! The smell of sulphur was quite strong (smells like boiled eggs), but it does add to the whole experience!

It's one of those sites you have to see while visiting Iceland. It doesn't take long and the various geyser's are a strange site to behold. The area is covered in a thick sulphur smelling fog and at times it's tricky to see. There is only 1 geyser you will see erupt (it does so every 5mins) and goes to... More

This area has a few geysers but the main attraction is Strokkur that warriors every 4-5 minutes. You will get wet if you stand too close. The majestic geyser is a powerful force to watch.

I don't understand why some people don't appear to appreciate this area, according to their reviews, it is phenomenal!!! The Strokkur blows every five minutes, more or less, really beautiful!!!! No, it may not blow quite as high as Yellowstone's famous Old Faithful, but it is in a totally different setting in my favorite country (out of 21 I've visited... More

If its your first time visiting Iceland, you cannot miss Strokkur. Its a unique experience and we enjoyed it. Bring gloves with you if you try to take a photo as it erupts. Its 5-10 minutes so you feel the cold when you focus on the one spot, waiting ;) there are quite a lot of tourists, obviously, so pick... More

Very popular in Iceland but it is definitely worth to see. The main Geysir erupts every 5-10 mins so be patient waiting. The scenery is even more spectacular during the sunset when surrounding steam makes the area look magical.

Geyser erupts every 5 to 10 minutes. Not as spectacular as the waterfalls though. There is big car park opposite and a souvenir and café beside the car park.

The strokkur geyser was not gigantic or dramatic, but still a good size geyser that exploded quite frequently. We were there when the weather was rainy and winds were strong. But we managed to capture the geyser blowing several times on film without waiting in the cold rain for too long. The areas around were slippery so proceed with caution.

Very close to the property--really across the street almost. It "blows" every 10 minutes or so and there are other sites to see including the original "geysir" and "little geysir."
