The geyser erupts every few minutes and sometimes a few times in a row. Depending which way the wind is blowing you can end up getting wet from the hot water as it falls back to earth

There are several hot springs and small geysers, but there is only one Strokkur. You can watch it for a long time; every eruption is different. Sometimes, it will give a gurgle, a clue that it might erupt, but it won't. Sometimes, all of a...More

What an wonderful area of boiling mud pools, rough landscape and scenery and the amazing Strokkur Geysir. The total area is relatively small, but there's enough pools to see to make it worth while and the geysir is a must see when in Iceland. As...More

While the original Geysir is not functioning anymore, old Strokkur is still doing its best. Although its erupts frequently, it is stil difficult to make a selfie at the right moment. While waiting for the next eruption, you can take a look around the other...More

A favorite stop along the Golden Circle. The area is alive with steaming pits, boiling mud pots, and Stokkur which shoots hot water about 30 meters into the sky every few minutes. If you miss the photo you always wanted the first time around, just...More

The great thing about Strokkur is that every 4-8 minutes it will blow. So if you see it go while you are walking up, or miss the selfie shot you always wanted, no worries, just sit tight and it will erupt again in a few...More

Hi, Strokkur is the geysir. It's also close to Gullfoss Falls (10-15 min drive). We stayed at the geysir hotel which is right across the road. Hope that helps!
