Forum Marinum is a sympathetic museum about seafaring, the seafaring people, life at sea, the history of shipbuilding and the past and present connection between people and the sea. A wonderful display from every angle, using storytelling through people´s destinies, and what´s best, accompanied with smells and a sound tapestry that don´t intrude. A holistic experience.

Nice museum if you like boats. Plenty to see. Spend some time and take a tour in the boats as well. Especially Suomen Joutsen is nice and "must see place" to visit.

Great collection and nice way to expose all this shipping staff and history. In winter you can`t access to old ships, parked outside, summer is better.

Fabulous museum celebrating maritime culture. As well as the main building there are ships moored alongside that you can climb through / up and over! Suomen Joutsen is quite stunning. My favourite part though is the names of all the donors than contributed to a keep the archipelago clean campaign a few years back.

Recomended after Turku Castle tour! After the Maritime Centre is easy to enjoy excellent lunch or dinner at the restaurant.

The museum has many interesting exhibitions, it's easy to access them and brings to life aspects of Finnish navy from World War II and the Cold War. A must-see for maritime and history lovers!

We made a day trip to this excellent maritime centre with our family (two boys in theit "tweenies"). We had planned to see something else in Turku too, but the boys loved the Forum Marinum so we ended up spending over 5 hours in there. We stepped out for a bite to eat, the entrance fee is a day pass... More

We have visited this place many times, but the last time was already years ago. The place was as interesting and charming as last time. We spend quite some time going through both the permanent exhibitions as well as the the exhibition that will last only this fall. There is a restaurant at the premises, but we did not visite... We really enjoyed this museum including the chance to visit on board several vessels. From small skiffs to 3 masted schooners this was very good stuff.

We went because it was a rainy day and we needed something to do with the kids and discovered a gem! It is a fascinating place not just for boat enthusiasts but for everyone! And the kids LOVED it!
