On a foggy morning in early autumn the place has magic qualities. The museum displays are somewhat haphazardly strewn inside the old water-filtering station. Hardly a leading motive to be determined. However, the power plant, both inside and outside, does not disappoint if you are...More

The Museum of Technology was located outside the main part of town. It wasn't difficult to get to but required a tram and a bus ride. Admission was free with the Helsinki Card. The museum consisted of several buildings, but only three were open when...More

If you have an hour or two, hop into this museum and it will leave you enriched. It's a very good place to come with kids too!

The museum was a huge disappointment for us. With the price of 8 euros you won't get so much. Especially the power plant section was just old abandoned machinery with no information of how it works or much of any other history explained either. Also...More

Most of the text of the exhibits are in Finnish only. So, if you don't speak Finnish, don't expect to get much out of the experience. We used a translator app on our phone and it made a few things a bit more interesting. They...More

The museum is a lesser known gem in Northern Helsinki: I warmly recommend it. The museum itself is interesting enough, and the museum grounds and the whole area is as beautiful as it is fascinating. The museum is housed in a former water treatment and...More
