This museum offers a number of interesting displays and is not too big. We particularly enjoyed the Tove Jansson section, including some Moomin pictures. Tip: free on the last Friday of each month

Tyko Sallinen probably tells nothing for foreign visitors but Tove Jansson created for example Moomin characters. For me the most important part was exhibition of Finnish modern life. As a huge Tove Jansson fan I went here specifically as they have a permanent Tove exhibition. Unfortunately it was a lot smaller than I had expected, beautiful work and it was a nice touch to see the restorer working in the exhibit in person.

I was lucky to be in Helsinki during the Yayoi Kusama exhibition (and before that, the Ai Weiwei exhibition!). It was tastefully exhibited,...More

A good place to learn more about Nordic/ Finnish artists, with exhibits on famous Finnish artist Tove Jonsson most worthy. A bit disappointed that much of the exhibits were closed, perhaps prepared for the busier summer season. Probably explained why the charge was only EUR5...More

Visited the Yayoi Kusama exhibition which was weird and wonderful! Had a great time in the large exhibition spaces taking in the artwork. Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit!
