To visit Uspenski's Cathedral is like a small trip to the east. The tempting music sung by the choir and also the audience is something you do not hear anywhere else in our country, since religion is not very apparent here. The rich decorations and costumes are interesting as well. Specially during easter it is great to experience the Orthodox... More

I am myself orthodox and i was very impress by the church and it's architecture. Going inside didn't cost but there was a baptism ongoing at the time and even though there were extremly big signs that taking picture is forbitten, nobody had any respect fot it and the persons attending the service! Dear tourists, let's at least show some... More

Quite a few steps up to access but well worth it. Impressive orthodox cathedral with lovely views. Small gift shop inside

Beautiful cathedral, put up by Imperial Russia on a high vantage point as a reminder of who (then) was boss. Interior nothing exceptional.

An interesting Orthodox Church, although cold walk as elevated, interesting religious objects and paintings.

Impressive church with huge gilded altar. No flash photography permitted. Nice view of the city from outside - especially at sunset

It's a orthodox church, one of the marks of the Finns history. Just an elegant cathedral. The weather was not good though. It should look a lot better when under the sunshine.

it is an eastern orthodox cathedral. I visited it after I read that in 2006, about 516,500 tourists visited the church. it is an impressive remain of the Russian occupation of Finland Main cathedral of the Finnish Orthodox Church in the diocese of Helsinki this Cathedral is claimed to be the largest orthodox church in Western Europe.

It is not as impressive in appeaerance as the church next door but this one sits on top of the hioll overlooking the harbour and in its own way is quite beautiful if a little threatening. Worth a visit.
