A large beautiful church you can see over the central market and harbor. Very beautiful on the inside as well. No pictures are allowed inside but it’s worth a look. There is only a small roped off area we could go in on Sunday.

Thank mfrs

Definitely a must visit! Access via steps (for those walking) or by vehicle to the cathedral carpark. A beautifully serene cathedral, with lovely intricate designs and a beautiful ceiling and alter. The view from the entrance (especially of surrounding Helsinki) is really lovely too. Definitely...More

This is a great place to visit both outside and inside. This great cathedral can be seen from a distance given its huge size and position.

Beautiful stop. We walked around and the view from the top was amazing. We went inside and listened to the service for a little bit as well.

Very pretty inside and out. People inside when we visited was very helpful. I personally love old churches in Europe. Orthodox Church under the patriarch of Constantinople.

This orthodox church is extraordinary. You get inside for free and all walls are painted lovely. The view above the city center is nice as well

This Orthodox Cathedral has a distinctive Russian feel to it which is obvious enough by its architecture. It is one of the many structures in Helsinki built by the Russians which stands as a testimony to their long standing rule of Finland. This Cathedral is...More

I visited Uspenskin Cathedral and the Helsinki Cathedral on the same afternoon, which is quite easy to do. They make for an interesting contrast!Uspenskin Cathedral is the largest Orthodox Church in Western Europe. Look at the icons, the ceiling, and the jewelry on display.

Well, not much different than so many cathedrals all over the western countries, but still it is worth a visit. Climb up the hill, look for the nice view of the harbor and the nice streets around and get impressed by the beautiful architecture.

It's closed on Monday. They are only opened for a couple of hours on other days if the week too. Though it is worth going in, just looking at the church and walking around it to see the 360 view of Helsinki bay is nice, too.
