We found this museum to be a surprise. It’s interactive and engaging with vignettes from the history of Helsinki. The last section was not applicable to us: the club scene in Helsinki through the years. Good place to spend an hour or so.

Interesting exhibits partly for children and partly for adults. Virtual reality exhibit is exceptional, and the technology in the clubbing exhibition is also very interesting, though it was not fully working during my visit. The museum in itself is quite small, but the features that...More

We visited Helsinki in early spring with lots of snow in streets, so we planned a stop at the museum to get warm while sightseeing. There is a nice cafe area, where you can buy coffee etc. We saw the photo exhibition, which was interesting...More

The lay out is amazing. I think the museum itself, the infrastructure and the layout are more interesting than the exhibits. it is small, and it is intended for families, for small children, but as far as a design of a museum goes, it is...More

If you are in Helsinki with young children and you need a place, where kids can play and you can eat their own lunch, this museum is for you. There is no entry fee, there are tables and a microwave oven in a nice "dining...More

Please avoid going here and wasting your time. This is the worst museum I have been to in my life. There is literally nothing to see.

I think this museum is better suited for locals than foreign tourists. It is free and doesn’t require a lot of time though. They have a nice lounge which is good for just hanging around if you need some rest.

A friendly museum for day-trippers and families. A shopkeeper's house from the late 19th century expanded to a 200-year history of a city. Special rooms for children's museum (school, toys, a 1970s granny's home) and a separate museum floor of the city's murky past.

The museum itself is not so extraordinary but the fact that they have huge collections of historical photos of Helsinki made this a great experience for me. Perhaps not so much stuff for tourist wanting to know about Helsinki`s history but for a guy who...More
