Dominating the square and facing the water this is very lovely. I like the fact that the steps are crowded with people resting their feet and absorbing the atmosphere..

It doesn't contain great paintings but it gives you a warm and good feeling when I stood there and listen to the Fug and Toccata in D minor, playing with the Church's organ

Oh my goodness, I am so glad that I went into this lovely, simple, peaceful, sparsely decorated church just to see the magnificent organ. The organ is located in the rear balcony, so you must turn around and look up. We took photos for friends back home who can play such an instrument. How I wish I could have heard... More

A beautiful and fascinating cathedral. The surrounding is gorgeous, if you face the front of the cathedral. It is a bit higher, so you have to climb some stairs. Definitely worth seeing it !

Walk the stairs to the top for a great view. We stepped inside the church (free) and looked around - very beautiful. Quick stop on our tour.

It is well worth a look at the buildings in this part of Helsinki, although there are a lot of steps up to the Cathedral and down to the square below. A lot of people inside taking selfies, which is distracting for those seeking the spiritual aspect of the building

Yes, it's a big Cathedral. Very impressive from the outside in a nice old city setting. That's about it. Certainly worth seeing to admire the architecture but the inside is like any other Lutheran church. Bare and boring. See it from the outside and move on.

The location is really impressive, on the hill above the gouv square. It looks impressive this way. But that was just it. It is a nice church, but not as special as hoped. I've seen more, nicer churches. Going inside is a dissapointing, empty and cold. For a big church like this..... Pitty.

Lovely Cathedral. Few steps upto the cathedral however its worth it. Nice relaxing atmosphere. There were some renovations going on when we visited. Worth visiting if you are in Helsinki.

It was built in the first half of the 19th century. Its features are the green dome and the statues of the twelve apostles. It is also worth visiting for its location. A small side note here; there is a souvenir shop that sells only T-shirts - of questionable quality. The one I bought turned out to be terrible.
