I most admit that Helsinki Cathedral is extremely impressive when you stand below it gazing up the steps to the glistening white walls and bluey green dome. However having climbed up the steps and ventured inside I must say that the impressive nature of the...More

This is a very impressive building, very elegant and grand. You can see the spires from far away, part of the skyline. Being a Lutheran church, the inside is very modest and plain, so be prepared for that, it is not like a traditional European...More

Many tours stop at this cathedral. It is impressive from below. The steps up are actually steeper than they appear. Once up, take a look inside the cathedral just because you are there. It is very plain and doesn't have much to view. Take a...More

Part of a city tour off a cruise ship. Beautiful and majestic. Our tour guide, Casper, was simply outstanding. Great stories about the city, and the Cathedral. We did not choose to go inside but it was gorgeous.

This building stands out. It is situated at the top of some steep steps in the city and overlooks Senate Square, where a band played. It can be seen as a land mark from the water too. It has ornate chandeliers inside very little else....More

The area just outside the church offers a wonderful view of the square. The church its self is very plain with little adornment on the inside. There are some wonderful sculptures important to Lutheranism.
