Loved this Market Place and Helsinki
Had an amazing time in Helsinski, Finland. Ate at the closed market - food is wonderful in Finland especially since I love seafood. I especially loved the Kauppatori market with all the homemade items. Bought some exceptional souvenirs there that were all handmade. Will be visiting again hopefully in the future.

    Amazing food stalls
A great location for an outdoor market and some really interesting stalls. The arts and crafts ones were really good but the food stalls were just the best. What was disappointing was that we had just had lunch before walking down here and some of the hot food stalls smelled delicious. Next time I come here, I starve myself for the day.

A must visit while you are in Helsinki...worth the time spent!!
After lunch we walk to the Market Square. It is an open bazaar just beside the Marina, where you can find a lot of handmade products from traditional original vendors , leather goods, souvenirs, clothes , vegetable, fruits and food . Surrounded by beautiful buildings, it is a nice place to walk , browse through unique souvenirs, or take a seat in any stall have a bite that you like to have food to enjoy the picturesque sceneries and the harbour ships activities. Boat tours are available from this location too. There are plateforms/benches and hanging chairs for visitors to take rest.I would say there is plenty to choose from and Market Square certainly has something for everyone. And of course it regular visitors are the Seagulls! The Stall vendors are welcoming and helpful, they give good recommendation on item/s that we need. We bought some local traditional souvenirs from them. The Flying Cinema is at the Square but we do not have to time to try the tour. All in all ,its worth the time spent !

    Nice markets
Best choice was on Saturday when there seemed to be more stalls. Unlike most places they're not full of rubbish but nice homemade gifts. Everything from magnets to fur hat/ gloves, wooden items, knitted clothes, glassware. Nice place to wander for a while. Also some food stalls which seem to be there most days.

We found this place during our first trip to Helsinki. Our hotel was very close. It is the central place where you can feel the Helsinki vibes, the sea and the haven. It is also a nice place to have local food.

Great outdoor market on the waterfront, with lots of food vendors (mostly selling various seafood--and sides like veggies and potatoes), lots of fresh produce (everything looked delicious), and some souvenir stalls.

Definitely check it out--and try some of the delicious food!--if you're in Helsinki, at least in the summer.

A very lively place especially in the summer, where you can find a lot of Finnish local food and other products. There are also many local mini-cruise opportunities nearby, and you can also take a ferry directly to Suomenlinna from the market square.

A touristic market where you can go for local meals, buy some fresh fruit, or purchase some souvenir from Finland. As a tourist, this is exactly the place where you want to go.
Beware of seagulls stealing your food, though. Those birds are quite skillful in this.

We parked at the coach park directly next to the large wheel and walked the short distance to our Sun line cruise on our boat Emma.
When we returned, we had roughly 30 to 45 minutes to look around this busy area.
We particularly enjoyed the flea market picking up a few souvenirs before returning to the ship.
The market sold allsorts including some nice jewellery as well as nic nac bits and souvenirs.
Food was available further around.
Our cruise began from this area which we also thoroughly enjoyed.
