The Nissan river has always played a major role for the city of Halmstad and the area is now being revitalised You will quite a distinction between the east bank (modern, vibrant) and the west bank (cafes, older parks, museums). The west bank forms the boundary of the older part of Halmstad and the city centre. Starting from the mouth... More

This is a beautiful river. If you are in the area you should pass it if you like rivers. I always find water soothing.

Nissan is a beautiful river you can stroll along in the centre of Halmstad. You, can fish, do Stand Up Paddling, canoing, whatch beautiful buildings of both modern and ancient sort. There are lots of restaurants and bars along the piers.

Passing the center of Halmstad, with really nice walks along the river. Most fantastic during the spring-time, this is a relaxing and most beautiful part of the city. Start on one side, pass a bridge, and g back on the other side.

Tylosand is my Swedish favorite for many reasons: Windsurfing, swimming, the prestine nature surounding and the proximity to two of the most beautiful towns in Europe, Malmo and Gothenburg. Days in summer are loooooong; my mates and went out into the surf at 03h00 in the morning. The short nights are still offering prime partying with the young folks. Fantastic... More

Good hard paths either side of the river with some nice parks to walk through. Care required however as you share the paths with cyclists

We decided to have a mini-adventure whilst in Halmstad and walk along the river, cross over and come back again. We're so glad that we did as there we some super sights to see along the way including the local football stadium, old factories, bridges, waterfalls and more. A great way to get an extra taste of an area instead... More

I walked through this place to get to the fotboll stadium. It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. The Swedes know how to take a relaxing stroll through or bike ride through a park. The water is clean and the park was free of graffiti and trash.

Take a walk or a run along the river sides. Visit Laxön (Salmon Island) for coffe. Walking from the town center takes about 20-30 minutes to the bridge att the water fall and then the opposite side back into town.
