This picturesque 19th century store and candy factory is the only place in Stockholm where you can see the traditional and popular manufacturing of the world famous candy cane, "Polkagris", all hand made of course. The charming little store is located on Lilla Nygatan 10 in the heart of Stockholm's Old Town, just a stone's throw away from Old Town's subway station, and it is full of beautiful and traditional tasty candy loved by young and old.Great gifts, tasty souvenirs!

We visited Polkagriskokeri, located in historic Gamla Stan, and watched the making of the delicious treat, polkagris, and to purchase some. Great shop with old atmospheric interior selling delicious old fashioned candy.

Polkagriskokeriet is a funny little shop you should visit when walking around in Gamla Stan. If you are lucky you get to see how they make "polkastenger" and there are plenty of varieties you can buy.

The display is very nice and very Christmas-y and the candy is simply amazing! But the price is definitely not cheap... for 5 candy canes you pay 100 krones.

Happened upon this lovely candy shop while meandering through Gamla Stan. They have every kind of "canes" and will give you free samples for tasting. I came away with all sorts of candy for the Grandkids. They are the oldest candy store in Stockholm.

Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home
to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central
island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small
island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous
Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit
touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting:
take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and
through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest)
