Worth the visit

Very beautiful view of the city. Easy for younger children to climb too, and we also had a stroller with us.

I visited late afternoon before sunset and was blown away by how pretty the view was. The path was a bit hard to find, but with the help of Google Maps I easily found it. Definitely recommend for photographers or those wanting the perfect instagram shot!

Found this site thanks to Tripadvisor and on a sunny day, the views are glorious. The only tip I give is where grippy shoes if it has been snowing or icy. They didn't put grit down, so I was slipping and sliding all over the place on my visit.

Monteliusvagen offers a stunning panoramic view of the city - a photographers dream. The walking path (500 meters long) is lined with charming houses on one side and beautiful views on the other. Wear comfortable shoes for the walk up the path (benches interspersed along the way) to be rewarded with one of the most scenic and idyllic spots in... More

Located at Sodermälm, it is an unpaved trail hugging the water. It takes 30 mins to wlk. There are benches to rest and some tables. It is an elevated path so the views are never impeded

A half km long foot path offering lovely views of Riddarholmen. Watch out as some parts are planked with wood and it gets slippery when the weather is rainy, especially during winter when it gets icy But the views and the lovely buildings of the neighborhood are totally worth the time

We have walk to this while stayed at Rygerfhord boat-hotel. From here you can see a nice view of the city and these boat-hotels moored here. Worth to come.

Staying in Mariatorget

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariatorget
This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.
