The Great Synagogue of Stockholm is simple yet beautiful. It provides good information on the history of the Jewish community in Sweden and Scandinavia, offering a sobering exhibit on World War II.

Get there early doors, the queues go around the corner by the time the doors open. I got there at 9.30 and luckily was first through the doors. Wow, awesome, totally stunning but partly down to no tourists in front of me. Ten minutes later,...More

Beautiful on the inside. There is security on the outside which may hinder your entering during services. Outside is very interesting. Photo of Western Wall covers the courtyard wall. There is a kosher restaurant on the grounds. It is well worth a visit.

Was fortunate enough to be in Stockholm on Shabbat and attend Friday night services. The congregation was warm and inviting. It was a great experience. Would definitely do it again!

Absolutely stunning! We took a tour and received a comprehensive and enlightening history of both the Synagogue and the Swedish Jewish community overall. Would highly recommend attending. It's about an hour long and well worth it!

We visited the Temple when they had a regularly scheduled English tour. The tour guide was excellent. She not only showed us the beautiful building but gave us tremendous insight into the Jewish community in Stockholm.

I concidentally walked by. It was Sunday and was closed but the building is very elegant. It is on a small street next to the park. It was built 1867-1870 according to designs made in 1862 by the architect Fredrik Wilhelm Scholander.

I did not book a tour, I went early and bought my entrance tickets from the booking office by the front door.

Is the Great Synagogue in Stockholm open for visits? Is there a tour guide on the premises? We heard that there are tours at 11 am and 1 pm on week days, but don't know if that is correct. Do we need to be vetted somehow before we arrive at the Synagogue for a visit? Thanks. Janice P
