A short walk from Gamla Stan with lots of vintage shops, cafes , restaurants and a very cool vibe. Such an interesting walk through an area that has many less tourists (although I was one ) and lots of local flavor.
I did stay in Gamla Stan last time but I would definitely stay in Södermalm next time. Great atmosphere best coffee houses and good bars.

Public transport makes Sodermalm very accessible. Happily it boasts residential areas in a relaxed ambience which makes it ideal to retire too after all day wondering about to see the sights.
We had a few days in Stockholm and our hotel was in Sodermlm. It's a really nice part of the city. There are lots of cafes and places to eat with many really individual ones. Wide streets and pavements makes this area feel more open...More
Sodermalm lives up to its hype of being the coolest part of Stockholm - my day consisted of buying silver shirts, visiting vintage shops, having a blueberry shake and watching Swedes perform an Indian mythological folk tale, among other things!
