Museum proviging True impression of Nordiska lifestyle

A beautiful museum. It provides true Nordiska lifestyle from food, house to clothing. The audio guide is very good. The entrance fee is reasonable in European standards.

Happened to love the outside of the building on the way to vasa so went inside after vasa. Ended up being our favorite museum. Fashion, home design, and other oddities. Great if kids are part of the group also.

The Nordic Museum (Nordiska museet), a Swedish ethnographic museum housed in a beautiful cathedralesque building, is located on the island of Djurgården, - you could easily combine a visit to this museum with a visit to the Vasa museum. We actually found the exterior of the museum more impressive than the collections housed inside.

I found the actually building really impressive and well worth looking at. It's good inside too with lots of exhibits. Easy to get to with bus stops outside. It's very close to the Vaasa Museum so worth popping along even if just to look at the building

The Nordic Museum had a lot of different things to show when we visited. The place is quite big so we walked around a lot. Easy access with public transportation is a plus. Quite low entrance fee. Free lockers for bags and clothes one floor down plus free to use toilets. Quite nice selection of content. Do not forget to... More

We visited this museum after our visit to Wasa Museum which is in 50m - really close! There were lots of different exhibitions that we could see, clothes, doll houses, fashion, the history of food etc. This is not a boring museum at all! Children would also like many rooms in this museum! Additionally there is a cosy cafe on... More

For me it lacked a red thread. It felt like there were random bits and pieces put together. It is good for people who like to see how old interior design looked like. Lots of furnoture

Nordiska museet is a must-visit - here you can learn almost everything about Swedish cultural history and the exhibitions are really cool. Also it's located in Djurgården, and the building is one of the most exciting in all of Stockholm.

Djurgarden & Djurgardsbrunn
The island of Djurgården and its northern mainland extension, Djurgårdsbrunn, impress with a mix of nature and an abundance of museums, while being located in walking distance to Stockholm’s city center. Djurgården not only invites visitors to take endless walks through a beautiful park landscape without having to leave the city, but also offers an incredible range of entertainment facilities, such as an open air museum which specializes in the Swedish way of life pre-industrialization, the renowned Vasa Museum with its legendary sailing ship, and Sweden’s most famous amusement park Gröna Lund, which is more than a 100 years old.
