Welcome to a museum the like of which has never been seen in Sweden before. The Museum of Spirits is a unique destination located in Stockholm’s two remaining 18th-century naval buildings on the island of Djurgården. With a focus on the Swedish people’s bittersweet relationship to alcohol, the museum exhibitions will take you on an unforgettable journey from pain to pleasure, from park bench to cocktail party, based on art, scenery, experience, scents, and tastes... Rarely has an afternoon soaked in alcohol yielded so many wise insights.

Still not entirely sure what was going on there. There was a little about how vodka & whisky was made but such a weird experience. It was like walking into a Salvador Dali dream. I can't describe it really - psychedelic, odd - uses all the senses. Very strange

It is all about spirits/alcohol and Swedish people. It has a lot of exhibits related with Absolute Vodka, maybe the sponsor of the museum. Some of it is interesting, but it doesn't worth to go only for these some. The cost for an adult is 120SEK a little bit over 12 euro

Only if you have seen everything in Stockholm and have nothing to do, it is worth visiting the museum of spirits. Otherwise, if you are around, I recommend to have a couple of drinks in a bar, which is in the same building as the museum. I liked a short movie that explains the difference between distillation and extraction of... More

This is a fairly small museum but still kept us occupied for a good couple of hours. At the time we visited it had quite a lot of improvement works in progress, so some parts were closed/inaccessible. Nonetheless, they had a REALLY good temporary exhibition about gardening, herbs and spirits that for me was one of the best parts of... More

Entry to the Museum of Spirits is included with the Stockholm Pass. The Museum itself is focused on Absolute Vodka which I presume either sponsors the museum or owns it. The first part is more a modern art museum dedicated to Absolute's advertising campaigns over the decades. The second part is about producing alcohol, distillation, flavourings etc. and the final... This is a very strange museum. The first half is cool, with an Absolut exhibit and some interesting artwork, but then you start moving into different areas that deal with the botany of alcohol (with a table of cookbooks?), effects of alcohol (a room with a very seductive female saying she is soooo hung over?), what it is like to... At first I was thinking this was about spirits as in ghosts, like BOO. Lol, but upon further researched learned it was about alcohol, so I know the hubby who be down for this museum. It had an exhibit dedicated to Absolut - the vodka which comes from Sweden. Displayed were lots of quirky art from different countries as well... More

An interesting look at alcohol in Sweden. There's a really good video room where you can lie on a sofa and watch a short video on a ceiling mounted tv showing how a night out changes depending on the amount of alcohol you consume.

Gives you a look on the history of alcohol in Sweden. Bit interactive, nothing to fancy. Worth a visit tho. You might learn something about absolute vodka :)

You can spend time there, especially if it's raining. Nice if you want to learn something about vodka.
