If you are in Kalmar and wondering if you should take the trouble to cross the bridge to Öland, well, the answer is yes. The drive alone is worth it.

We crossed this bridge to the island of Oland, mainly to see the windmills, so we're delighted not to pay for the 6km bridge.... On our return we stayed, in our motorhome, next to the bridge, so got some good views... there is free parking...More

Born and raised in Kalmar.I have walked, cycled (not allowed now a days) and driven over this bridge more times than i can count. The view is fantastic and i just love this bridge.

The bridge is quite pretty when viewed from Öland looking back to Kalmar - while driving, it is better for the passengers only to admire the views. The bridge can be very windy so use caution when driving! A trip to Öland is a must...More
