Visited Domaine Sula with family for the first time, though I have done winery visits and wine testing in South Africa earlier.

It was fun to visit the place, our guide Dhanush was well versed and made the visit fun visit and educational.

The wine testing experience is really good.

The restaurant at this place Little Italy is great to have lunch.

You can spend 4 to 5 hrs. easily here enjoying the place and lot of Insta worth photo opportunities here.

I visited this place with my family, I lost my time and money. They took us for their wine factory where they hardly had any machinery working to show us. It was all, an old man blabbering about all chemical reactions that occur in wine extraction process. Another Joke was wine tasting, "KIRAN" - Do you know what you talk???.. God sake, Please go get some knowledge about what is wine tasting. You gave us a terrible explanation about wine while tasting!. Your management should think of finding an alternative for your position!

An excellent place for a day tour with your friends, family or loved one. Take a morning drive/ride on the smooth national highway to reach the destination(around 60KM).

The wine tour is very nominally charged(around INR 200), which covers the live wine making process and wine tasting (atleast 4 variety). You can throw all your questions regarding wines to the knowledgeable tour guide and he will happily explain you that. Post tour order your food and choice of wine in the only one but excellent restaurant. When your food is getting ready, meanwhile take a tour in the vineyard. If you are visiting during the harvesting season(Feb-Mar) then you will get nice grapes on the trees. Post lunch visit their shop and buy the wines you want. Heritage wines and very reasonably priced.

In other activities you can also try Grape stomping with some groovy music if you are visiting as a couple or a group of friends. But it is having a separate charge (I guess INR 500).

If you want to make your trip more interesting then take the way back via Manchanbele. Though the dam gate is closed; the 35KM stretch is having very beautiful landscape as it goes though villages and mountains.

A friend suggested this place to me and we decided to take a 2 hour drive from Bangalore to the wineyard, I must say that it was a wonderful and learning experience.

Our host Mr. Balaji was a very knowledgeable person and he knew his wines very well. The wine tour and wine tasting was great and the hosts had arranged for a Grape stomping for us as well that was a lot of fun.

The lunch was included in the package and it was a 5 course meal. The food was well prepared and was tasty.
However the only thing which we found off-putting was the speed of service, that may be mostly because of the huge crowd on the long weekend, but otherwise no complaints with this experinece. I would highly recommend this place for people of all age groups

A different kinda outing

It takes about 90 minutes from Bangalore to reach Heritage Wineries. At the winery, the visitors are provided a guided tour through the winery where the entire wine manufacturing process is explained and the vineyard. The tour ticket is Rs. 250 per person. The tour concludes with wine tasting. Mr. Shashidhar did the wine tasting session for us and we tried out the various varities they have - Shiraz, Cabarnet, White Wine 2000, Twist etc. The wine guide will regale with tips on how to hold the glass, how to swirl, sniff, taste and the works. He does it with such enthusiasm that you cannot help but feel he loves his job!
There is a small restaurant in the premises. They have a pretty good menu but the service takes a long time. They warn the visitors upfront about the order taking 40-45 minutes. We went on a holiday when it was extremly crowded. The food was good especially chilli prawns, prawns butter fry, paneer tikka and chicken malai tikka. The main course is Ok. It took nearly 45 minutes to get the food and we were famished by the time it arrived. Once can leave the place after the tour and eat elsewhere at someplace on the highway but we liked the open ambience and wanted to eat there. The staff and wine guide told us that weekends and public holidays are usually crowded. It is a different sort of experience even if you are not a alcohol/wine drinker. Our purpose was to go for a long drive and a lunch outing with friends. And even though I am not a wine lover, I enjoyed the place. Overall, it is a nice place to spend about half a day.

I went there with my family assuming my kids would be able to enjoy the grape farm. Unfortunately the vineyard is very small in size and we could locate only plants over there, no grapes at all. Guide said that harvesting happens in mid of Feb. Lunch is OK. Vine tasting part of this tour may tuned to be boring if you are not really fond of vine Nothing really excites otherwise here. This place takes 2 hours drive from Bangalore. It is not really worth the time or money.

We expected to have a good time with about 10 of us at the place! However, Heritage vineyards had something else in store for us. Since we were hungry we started with the restaurant. Not only was the service bad (3.5 hours for lunch??), but even the food wasn't any great. He took 30 minutes to serve wine, and another 30 to get a chapati! A 45 minute wait for the cheque concluded the lunch. Of course we skipped the wine tasting given the experience. I strictly recommend a "DO NOT GO" for this place. It is overrated, highly overrated!
