Malmöhus Castle is Scandinavia´s oldest surviving Renaissance castle. Here Denmark´s coins were minted in the Middle Ages and here Crown Prince Frederick held wild parties in the 16th century. Prisoners were beheaded in the courtyard in the 19th century. Today Malmöhus forms part of Malmö Museer. The castle is part of Sweden´s cultural heritage and is managed by the National Property Board.

We live in Lund and love Malmö Museer! So much for kids to see and do. Technical part has a submarine, models, a basemen boat playground and an experiment area. The main castle has an aquarium, natural science areas and art (don't usually take kids...More

Free mini tour and we enjoyed a quick history lesson. Historic furniture, painters, vases, dishes and much more on display. We did not see the animal side of this.

Much less of an architectural gem than many of the castles in this area. Perhaps explained by its past history as a Treasury and then a Prison. Next to a lovely park near the centre of Malmo

Mine was a great experience. Got to see many interesting artifacts. This is a place which one has to experience personally.

One of the main attractions in Malmo! Really interesting and worth visiting. Very different exhibits though, from aquarium, to historical stuff, paintings and super modern clothes or furniture!! All in one museum !! And very low price too:)

Probably one of the best attractions in my life so far! For £4 (£2 for students) you get to see history of denmark and sweeden and all its wars. You get to walk in the footsteps of history. They have a natural history section for...More

I visited on a sunny day, so was able to get some great pictures. Interesting to visit the museum and find out about the fortifications and the part that this place played in the Danish/Swedish conflict a few centuries ago

Malmøhus is a part of the old fortress build to defend Malmø from the see side. It is well preserved and a home to a number of museums.

It is 40 SEK to enter, children up to 19 is free. It is a brief 15 minute walk from the central train station if you are coming from Copenhagen. There are signs to it everywhere.
