We were on a tour and were taken here as part of it. We were told about this being the sum residence of the Royal Family and amazingly the King turned up in his car as we were there! It is a lovely building but...More

Our family of 7 did not even know the Summer Palace was here! We had planned to visit the Borgholm Castle, after seeing Eketorp and Gettlinge stones, and saw a sign pointing left to the palace from the Borgholm Castle. What a surprise and treat....More

Solliden was my favourite spot on Öland island. This beautiful chateau has been the summer residence of the Swedish royal family since 1906. It was built by German-born Queen Victoria of Sweden in 1903, and inherited by the current King, Carl Gustav XVI in 1960....More

These palace gardens are beautifully maintained to royal standards. The collection of trees, shrubs and plants is a garden-lovers dream. The location is magnificent. As well as the maintained gardens, there are also extensive and beautiful nature trails where there is a sense of untamed...More

Solliden Castle is famous as the summer residence of the Swedish royal family. The castle is off limit to most but visitors can access the park. The park is beautiful but rather expensive and I prefered the Stadspark in Kalmar. Better is to wander in...More

Visited Solliden Park with the family. 2 adults and 1 child costs 250 skr. A bit overpriced cause there wasn't that much to see and do really. Some nice flowers and trees, but not so much besides that.

The gardens are more interesting than the palace. You have to pay to visit both. Might be worth if you have too much time.

A new exhibition on a specific theme every summer at entrance. Large garden, vast spaces, tranqil, not very many different species (compared to some gardens abroad) but well kept!
