The 5 ships in the Museum proper were deliberately sunk as part of a blockade, but, as ever, it is a really powerful experience to see them, particularly the remains of the two longships. The Museum in which they are housed is a wonderful piece...More

My visit to the viking ship museum was part of a tour booked through a cruise liner. We got a pretty good tour of Downtown Copenhagen on the way out of town and the hour to the museum was interesting. The museum has in door...More

Were visited as part of an excursion and had only an hour onsite. If able, I’d recommend more time to take in all the museum has to offer. Very interesting exhibits and well preserved original Viking boats.

Had a great four hours at the museum. Really enjoyed the way information is presented. All the staff were very interesting and informative. Didn’t go out on the boat. Next time! Recommended

This was much better than anticipated! See five old viking ships (or remnants of the same) and learning how they were found, excavated and preserved was fascinating. I would highly recommend watching the film FIRST before going through the museum building so you can appreciate...More

Interesting museum and worth taking the guided tour to really understand the Viking/British & Irish connections. Fun activities for kids as well. We recommend the restaurant for its food and beers.

Experts are attempting to preserve and enhance our knowledge and understanding of the Viking era, through their discoveries excavated from the fjord over the past fifty years, leading to reconstructions to relearn the lessons of 700AD. Boatbuilders, blacksmiths and ropemakers created replicas from base materials,...More
